  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Prayers for me please.

Sorry for not updating you guys it was late by the time we got home. The nurse finally saw us around 2:30 and she messaged my psychiatrist and he replied back and asked her to do a bunch of tests like take my oxygen and ask me a variety of questions. When everything was done he concluded it was HIGHLY unlikely its the caplyta causing the shortness of breath because if it was id be having an allergic reaction most commonly or in the rarest of cases it can make asthma worse but thats apparently a 1 in a million side effect. He said that im definitely not allergic to it and said that its likely either my asthma acting up or anxiety or both. He told me if the sob gets any worse over the next few days to call the nurse and they will contact him or go down again and he will see me and figure out whats going on but for right now continue taking the caplyta as prescribed and he will refill my ativan for one FINAL time (so I have to get off of it within 60 days but thats something for me to worry about another time).

Anyway, thats how it went. I can breathe a tad easier this morning but its still very difficult to breathe on exertion. Its really weird.

Still having breathing difficulty today if it doesnt get much better by Monday im going to call my pulmonologist and schedule an appointment with him and see if he can run some tests and figure out what might be wrong because right now I dont see him until Feburary for a nucala followup. Thank you for your continued prayers i appreciate it. I see my nutritionist this afternoon at the bariatric clinic in the hospital in saranac and ill find out how much weight ive lost. Im personally hoping the caplyta is causing me to lose weight too because it might cause weight loss in some people. Fingers crossed and praying there. Oh and gastroentrology in plattsburgh FINALLY called me back just now to see when Lori my nurse practitioner could finally see me. She can see me through telehealth on Janurary 9th at 11:30pm to discuss what to do next since I dont want to do the colonoscopy anymore. So... that should be going well.

So I went to the er last night I tried to post on here but Jeanettes phone wouldn't let me post and we had to go instantly to bed by the time we got home.

Umm, so my eosinophils were slightly elevated and even a slight elevation can cause my symptoms. Other than that I was medically fine so they sent me home. The doctor was very thorough and he completely ruled out a caplyta allergic reaction so I'm not allergic to it.

It's still possible it's causing me to be short of breath but it's highly unlikely. I'll be telling my psychiatrist tomorrow that I was in the ER and my eosinophils were up and ask him how he wants ne to taper off of ativan because cutting quarter milligram pills in half don't work i get hallucinations and reduced sleep from them and im afraid of making my manic episode worse.

So... we gotta think of something. Anyway, nucala isn't fully kicked in yet and that's likely what's causing my shortness of breath. Just my eosinophilic asthma acting up and nothing dangerous medically is going wrong with me last night the doctor was VERY thorough.

I went to the er in Burlington the other day because for the last 5 or so days ive been having worseningne a blurry vision. The er highly suspected like me that its my psych meds (likely caplyta) but ruled out all emergent causes and I dont have glaucoma. I also could see 20/20 in one eye with my glasses on and near 20/20 in the other close up so my eyes are still good theyre just extremely blurry. They tested me on a kindergarten shape test from oh I dont know 10-15 feet away and I wasnt able to make out some of the shapes which was a little concerning.

So... what they did is they referred me to an optometrist here in town that were supposed to call today. Jeanette is going to call them at 8 today and if we get an appointment today week going in the ice storm today regardless of whether or not its safe because I need to be seen ASAP my vision is worsening everyday were also going to try getting a hold of my psychiatrist kelsey for the 1 millionth time because the Burlington er highly suggested that too. But hes so hard to get a hold of because he doesnt have a direct line and you have to go through the nurses answering machine all the time...

So good news. I got an appointment with the ophthalmologist yesterday. Theres nothing wrong with my eyes she couldnt say for sure that its a psych med causing the blurry vision she is stumped as to what could be causing it but when she looked at my eyes and theyre completely healthy what else i as there? She said if it is my psych meds consider topiramate because its a big candidate for vision problems and doing the symptoms Im describing. So when my mental health clinic opens today im going to ask the front desk if I can see my psychiatrist sometime today or urgently. I have an appointment with him next thursday but I need to see him sooner than that we need to get my meds straightened out ASAP.

Google ai is saying if it is topiramate these med changes can be permanent if I dont get these med changes fixed asap if that is true i need to see kelsey or a psychiatrist right away.

So you are dealing with actual blindness here? I think that condition is incurable...oh my gosh...I'm so sorry if you are gradually losing your vision like this. But nothing God can't handle, right? I will pray He heals you.

I wouldn't call it blindness but partial blindness that should improve over time yeah.

So my closeup vision is partially back but my distance vision is still blurry and being effected. I went to see the nurse at my mental health clinic yesterday and she got my psychiatrist and he personally came over to say that he doesnt think its my medications he thinks its my anxiety being through the roof from tapering off of ativan. So he said it should keep improving as my body keeps getting used to the taper he said iv it keeps getting worse to call or come down there. He said if seeing a neurologist would make me feel better he would write the referral.

So I'm calling the opthamologist in a bit to make sure I'm ok but I just woke up from a nap and I noticed that most of my vision is back like my vision without my glasses. I haven't been able to see without glasses since I was 5 years old. I'm almost 40... my vision isn't TOTALLY restored. Far away things are still blurry. But I can see 20/20 close up and things semi far away are mostly clear. I can almost make out small font semi far away so this is as close to a miraculous healing from God as I'm probably going to get. I haven't been able to see this good in almost 35 years. But I'm calling the ophthalmologist in case it's something dangerous or if she'd like to evaluate me again. I'll let you know what she says.
