Does God answer the prayers of unbelievers?

It says he doesn't hear the prayers in the OT of those who forsake the Lord... but perhaps he heard them for yourself.

Maybe he hears prayers of intercession from non believers on behalf of believers.

So that's my theory above.

However, there is another idea but it would mean the dark side helped you to fool you and ensnare you but can the dark side heal a person? It would be associated with magic then. What do wiccans believe? If they did some kind of witchcraft on you, then the result was from magic.

The problem isn't unbiblical prayers. Anyone who hasn't expressly prayed the psalms or the Lord's prayer, who has ever prayed from the heart has gone outside explicitly Biblical prayer.

The problem is people criticizing others for using unbiblical prayer whilst also using unbiblical prayer.

Christ was merely saying that he and the Father are one, that the Apostles had the Father with them because Christ was with them. He didn't say anyone who didn't believe Christ was also God was completely bereft of the ability to pray to God, merely that God wasn't directly with them in the Christian sense- in the incarnation.

FYI, my Wiccan friends did pray to their god and goddess asking for my healing, but the time I went into the hospital wasn’t in line with one of their shabbats, so they weren’t getting naked and dancing in circles or performing any magical ceremonies.

God is not a man. He does not think like one. So how we believe GOD should act or think. He does not. Nor is it written God hears who He wants to. What does the bible say?

Proverbs 15:29 - The LORD [is] far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.

1 Peter 3:12 - For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

Isaiah 59:2 - But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

John 9:31 - Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

So.. this is what GODS word says not me. And are here are NT. There are more. Its one thing if were talking about US the righteous praying for them.. God always hears us. Now.. seeking Him seeking truth.. I believe He does answer. For no one can come to God but by the holy Spirit. The word is clear. Its not based on how we feel

Well, whatever the explanation. We are glad you are feeling better and the hospital went well.

I'd be just be mindful of the Wiccans due to witchcraft.

I'd also ask the Lord in prayer for an answer. Does he want you to ask for prayers from people that don't believe in him?

When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living?

God will hear this one's prayer: Luke 18:9-14
But not this one's, but does with the other: John 9:31

Are you going to accept only prayers from Christians that follow Jesus Christ, or are you going to accept prayers from those who are unbelievers who pray to gods that do not live?
It's not a sin to be around unbelievers (Jesus ate with sinners), but taking their counsel is not wise: Psalm 1:1
"Blessed is the man who does not walk in the advice of the wicked;
nor does he stand in the way of sinners;
nor does he sit in the assembly of mockers."

I hope you see the difference of how we are to live in the world but not be of the world.

If I ask for prayer it is made to people whose prayer life and gifting are aligned. Their strength is intercession and our petitions should agree.

So let me ask you this: when the Bible tells you the prayers of non-believers do them no good, what suddenly makes you think God is running to answer their prayers?

it's not even logical really.. Satan would have more interest in seeing the prayers of a non believer get answered than God, because answered prayer would seem as proof to them that their god is real and powerful..

Why would God go out of His way to disprove Himself?

Because you believe He loves you more than what brings Him Glory?

Is that what you think? I mean, He might... but Scripture does say that God won't give His Glory to another, So I'd question it myself.

At any rate, if your happy having non-believers pray for you, and believe them to have effective prayers against the clear teaching of the Bible, then why bother coming on a Christian forum and asking the Christian take?

I still believe it's really odd (to put it as mildly as possible) you sitting here on a Christian forum trying to claim following the Wiccan religion or Islam or, or or, makes them righteous in the eyes of God..

In that same sentence you also stated that their prayers do no good. That is the part I was disagreeing with. Again, why would a Christian claim that there is more than one God.

The thread isn’t about the prayers of non-believers doing them good. It is about God hearing the prayers of non-believers for the healing of a Christian. Do you take the time to read what is posted.
