  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

 Can we please stick to the OP which is quoted below. If you don't know what prayer walking is, check out the second post I quoted.

If we need to create a flirting thread, let me know and I'll get right on it! ;)

MOD HAT OFF

What do y'all know about prayer walking? Ever tried it? What were your experiences with it (good or bad)?

This is what wikipedia says:
"A prayer walk is an activity that consists in walking and praying at the same time[1]. It's done not for the physical benefit but for the spiritual exercise, either publicly functioning also as a demonstration or rally (to let other people know the group is praying), or quietly in sight of the subject. For instance, a person or group may be praying for a town or city, and walk the streets of the city while praying, either out loud, or in silence."

I have done this years back with my former church for Good Friday and I liked it, but otherwise I haven't done anything else like this.

I'm trying to be nice about pointing out that you are severely derailing this thread. Please create your own thread to chat with one another.
No problem by me. This derailment all started earlier today when I said I was going bicycling and was going to try to pray while doing so. Then it got into talking about the bicycle trails where I live and how nice they are. I am sorry for dreailing the thread and take full responsibilty for doing so.

I have seen prayer walking work for small groups (i.e., people who will be living with one another) when they move into a new area and prayer walk the area. I think it's a good way to start out in an area, because it keeps you in a mindset that living in that area is for the glory of God and it encourages a commitment among friends/roommates/what have you to keep that goal in mind.

I've personally never done a prayer walk intentionally, but I do often pray when I'm walking. I like to sort things out in my head and pray about them as I'm walking.

I should do a prayer walk in my neighborhood and pray for all of my neighbors. I think that would be cool.

I am one of those people that cannot plan when or where I am going to pray. If it occurs it occurs.
