• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Thank you Gail. The days are very long and the pain is very great (as I'm sure you know). Maybe because she was small enough to cradle like a baby and my chest is an open wound. I didn't grieve this much for my dad when he passed 13 years ago on the 18th of January. I am feeling confused and guilty over this. She was always looking at me, following me everywhere, even to the bathroom, soooooooo very loyal and protective of me. I feel as if I have lost a piece of my heart and I have physical pain there as well as nausea, dizziness and disorientation. I can't imagine what other pain could be worse and don't ever want to adopt another pet again. Thank you so much for your continued prayers! All my love.

They are like children, so the pain is deep, and because they are so close, you expect to see and hear and feel them everywhere you turn!

It took a while for me to adjust when my Nikki (English Springer Spaniel) died after her 14 years of loving companionship ...especially during a couple of very grave illnesses I had.
For a number of months I would dream realistically about her, and expect to see her when I awoke.

Give your self time; it WILL get easier!

Please don't compare her loss with your Dad ~ let go of the guilt.
Grief and emotions are so complicated; there is no wrong or right to it.
Compared to my sister...I was devoid of emotion when my mother died; she was devastated, but that is not an accurate reflection of our relationship.

Take it a day at a time....rides the waves of emotion, and be at peace

Yes, love grows Dave! My husband Alan said that I was bleeding love through this trial. P.S. You have a very kind face!

:) The heart is 'capable' of, self-repair ;)

But NOTHING
can withstand the will of the Lord
Yes, a time of pain and sorrow  [unavoidable! by those that 'learn']

We are become, what we are... hopefully, on our way, to what we were intended to be
it is 'what is inside that really matters most'

Feel the comfort of His loving peace

Oh well...back in the sauce again. :( I must have lost some faith along this painful
trip and I can't seem to manage to rise above my ridiculous remedy (alcohol) :( Please pray for my deliverance from this substance, for increased faith, for whatever it takes to overcome this tragedy (the death of my beloved Juliette) without sucumming to the ether of this world! Alcoholics Anonymous? Been there done
that. Rehab? Been there done that. The Lord understands yet I believe that He wants us to understand (and intercede) for one another as well. If any resolution for the new year it would be this: that I be more transparent, more honest about myself, more true to who I am and aspire to become; before the Lord, before myself and before others. Conviction #2. That I intercede for my brothers and sisters in
Christ and find comfort in the presence of His merciful and unconditional love! I have peace with Him and am ready to go home. I just want everyone to know that I am intoxicated yes, but still in love with my Lord and accept His merciful love!

Thanks Gail for the exhortation. I will consider going back to AA...even if just for a week night meeting. It's just that they urge you to have a higher power (even if it's a lightbulb). They say that they will be there for you but are too lame to help. They judge, they gossip and they are just struggling with their own addictions...so my support has to come from someplace else (I think). But I will consider what you said and wait upon His leading in the matter. Much love, Yvie

I believe that my suffering is for the glory of the Lord. Sure, I'm an alcoholic and an active one to boot...but how many of my brothers and sisters are still in the closet with their demons? If we don't come clean and confess them to one another, they will grow and overcome. We need to be more honest about our struggles. I know for a fact that many Christian leaders struggle with internet porn. If they don't tell us, we can't pray for them. I feel for them and pray that they may call these demons into the Light and be rid of them once and for all in the precious name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. AMEN

Yvie Sis'

We have a sister in Christ [Angeldove_1]
Who could, wave a flag for you to follow... now 'clean' ~for a great many years
she 'fights her demons' publicly
She is on Facebook
and, if you so wish [?] I could introduce you ~to each other

'alcohol' killed, my best friend 'Redvers'
which drove me away from a similar lifestyle
and also took the life from my youngest brother, [sibling] Paul

I no-longer drink 'to such excess'
But I am kinda fond of, the odd bottle or two of, NEWCASTLE BROWN ALE
[every couple of months or so]
or, a bottle of red wine CABERNET SAUVIGNON [/Shiraz]

I 'point-out' that we, are given CHOICE
and KNOW, that it is, our responsibility, to make good choices for OURSELVES
and, that it is the making of good choices, that provides 'good rewards'
Which, also allows us, to teach 'by-example' [testimony]

Back in my youth, ie: prior-to 'Red's passing'
I would consume 9 litres of dry cider per day [or more]
and, 'smoke' around one ounce of Marijuana / Ganja, in a weekend

??
When we can 'see' where, we are going.... we can choose 'another-direction'
when we come to the next crossroads [?]
AND, using the saying: "Don't look back, you are not going that way"
we become enabled, to take more-control, over our lives

When you really want-to arrive, at the best destination,
make a prayerful choice, at each and every crossroads

Hi everyone,

This is what I call a quick prayer request - i.e. not asking for much time on it, but if you could just lift it before the Lord briefly I'd be grateful to have fellow Christians adding their voices to mine. It is basically about future direction, as yet again (for the second time since joining CF, and the 24th in my life) I need to move home. I'm quite excited but have no idea of God's direction. Please would you pray that God opens/closes doors (metaphorically and maybe literally!) so that I end up in the right place - preferably without too much stress or hassle! Many thanks.

 for you Yvie, and continued  for CF friends.

No concern is too small to ask God about... and with that said, please pray about my cellular phone not working this morning. :(

I am disabled and rely upon this phone SO MUCH... the battery was down to %30 last night so I plugged it in and charged it to %100...and then used it for a hynotherapy script (15 minutes) and shut it off (not all the way down--it's an Iphone 4S btw). This morning it's dead-dead. Won't even acknowledge being plugged into AC power. :( I truly need this phone. The earliest appointment is Wednesday...and I had to work it in before I see the newest pain management MD...not sure I gave myself enough time but it was the earliest appointment.

I am taking a trip next week for my younger son's exit (from the Army after 24 years) ceremony in AL.

I'm thinking I will have to buy a new one, as refurbished phones NEVER work for me.

I'm asking God to have this one begin working correctly today...but definitely before I have to use that appointment. :prayer:

Thank you for bringing this concern before God with me :groupray:
