I am a bit late putting this request here, but she still needs prayers. My best friend was taken to the hospital last week with what they thought was a stroke. It turned out, she did not have a stroke, but does have a tumor on the left side of her brain. It is on the part that controls her speech. She is currently waiting to be transferred to LSU Hospital, where she will have surgery to have it removed. The doctors are confident that it can be removed safely, as it is near the surface. She has been on medication for seizures that has really helped a lot, but the tumor does need to be removed. She is a strong, confident Christian woman, and has full faith in God, but prayers are still needed! Her name is Gloria.

Praying for Gloria and for her sweet friend

Thank you. She went home yesterday, with massive amounts of medication. They said they couldn't do anything more for her at the hospital, than she can do at home until she is able to get the surgery. That is set for June 27. She is talking normally now, which is a vast improvement. She has pills for seizures, pills for swelling, pills for nerve pain, pills for diabetes (which she didn't know she had) and pills for cholesterol, which she also didn't know she had. She has a wonderful attitude, and it is a joy to call her my friend! I'd just like to keep her around a while longer!

N - Just laid off today with 42% of the employees in that location. Needs good job quickly!

I wanted to lay out my problems before my friends because I am so heavy hearted.
I have been sick for close to 20 years now. Over the years I've had more and more difficulty with jobs and a lot of that is due to my illness.
This past 6 months has been a long, slow and arduous recovery and I still have a long way to go.
I essentially feel somewhat defeated. The joy is gone from my life. I have no hope. I question where God is in all of this and why can he not bless me? Must I suffer to the end? What am I supposed to learn from all of this constantly grinding me down.
We can't even afford rent this month. My God, My God! Why have you abandoned me!?

Dear Rhys I love you brother. We never know "why" our God lets us suffer but at times we do. His mind is not our mind, His ways are not our ways. Put your trust in Him. Give Him your grief and your heavy heart. He will give you rest. But the rest may not come until we are in a much better place than here. Know that I'm praying for you and yours. I know that sounds so small but my God is so big.

Dawn is right, He is a mighty big God. We don't know why He allows us to go through what we do. It may be just to strengthen us. But, there is always hope. You just have to trust Him. I know that it is hard sometimes, but just let go, and let God. There is a song I used to sing, that I called my 'anthem' because I was about at my lowest point when I sang it the most. I had to listen to the words of it over and over again to really get it. It is called God on the Mountain, and it talks about if we were always on the mountain, and happy, we would never learn how to trust Him. God is still God, whether we are on the mountain top, or in the lowest valleys.

Bumping up my prayer request for Gloria. She has surgery tomorrow about 10:00 am CST. I talked to her awhile ago, and she is in really good spirits. She had ,a friend of hers shave her head, because she would rather be 'baldy' than 'patches'!! I am going to go to the hospital tomorrow, and I will update when I get home.

Thanks! She came through surgery just fine. It will be several days before they know if it was cancerous or not, though.

Gloria went home yesterday. She has 17 staples in her head. She sounds good, but I haven't been able to get over to see her. I am off Tuesday, so I told her I would come then, and spend the day with her. She still hasn't gotten the report back yet.

PLease pray for my friend Freda. A month ago her husband told her he no longer loves her and moved out. She is going through a really difficult time. Please pray for their boys, Josh and Adam too.
