I had a minor incident in the house. The microwave I was using burned the food and melted the plastic on a container. The odor permeated the house and I am trying my best to ventilate. Unfortunately my wife has abdominal issues and a cough possibly related to gastritis. She may be going into the hospital in a few weeks. The odor is not dissipating completely. The microwave in question is used exclusively by me and is working. However i am concerned that the plastic may have leeched into the micorwave and I am considering discarding it entirely and need wisdom about this.

Get a new Microwave?
I mean it's not a big deal, if you're concerned about it I'd get a new one
