Prayer request

I have two requests if you guys could help me out...

I'm kind of having this struggle with drinking and whether or not I should be doing it...I know I shouldn't, but I end up doing it at parties anyway. So...I could use some prayer for that.

and...

Please, please, please help me out and pray that I improve in my math class. It is really hard and I don't want to have to drop it and take it over again next year or something. I always do the homework, but because the professor grades it based on correctness I hardly ever get good grades on it. We've only had one test so far and I didn't do so well on that either. Anyway...I would REALLY appreciate it if you guys would pray that I understand the material and work hard to get my grade up.

Careful with the alcohol.. I was a social drinker in the military, then in college and lost control of it... (16 mos sober now and counting)

As far as struggling with Math,, hang in there! you'll get through it!!!

Why do you drink?  To artificially boost your confidence?  I would be asking the Lord for help in the self esteem area if that is the case.

I to had problems in Math especially Geometry then on day after 3 quarters I got it and aced it.  Do the best you can, not all of us are mathematicians.

Pray for your teacher.  I've had teachers that lectured and didn't really teach.  This can make a course very difficult.

Praying for you Laura. I know sometimes it is hard to go against the crowd when it comes to drinking. I will pray that God will give you the strength to say no and to become a witness to your friends. I had friends that drank when I was in school but I could have just a good of time at parties drinking just soda pop. Show them that it shouldn't be the alcohol that produces the good time. Your liver will thank you later!

As for math, I feel your pain! I pray that God will help open your mind when you study. Are there tutors available that could help you out?

I don't drink to boost my confidence or anything deep like that...I guess I just do it because it's fun.

I have always had problems with math. I have never been able to understand it...and it doesn't help that my professor can't explain anything. He'll go twenty minutes showing us a problem, and then he'll be like, "oops I made a mistake" and start all over again.

Trust me... you don't want to pay the price if you lose control with the alcohol... (from one who's been there).

Hey Laura,

I kinda know what your saying with regards to the drinking.  One time I got really drunk and my friends had to carry me home and I was sooo sick.  I never drank much after that.  I have an occassional beer tho.

I really want to share something with you.  Liquor in most people releases there inhibitions or to put it in another way, they feel free to do what they normally would not.  This can be fun but can also be dangerous.  This is when some people become addicted or need alcohol.  Try just having some sodas or something at your gatherings for awhile.  If you feel your not having as much fun, then your relying on the alcohol to help.

I am concerned for you as if you were my precious sister that's all.

I pray for teachers everywhere your professor included.  Sounds like "Algebra" difficulties.  Algebra is more difficult I think because it doesn't seem to relate to the real word in any way.

Well just know you are in my prayers!!
