  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I just found out yesterday that a man who goes to our church was on a business trip and he was robbed and shot. He was shot twice. once by the right ear and the other at his spine. He has a wife and two girls( one in college , and the other, in high school, I think). I know them all very well. I'm in complete shock right now.:( They dont know if he'll live, or if he does, if he'll be able to walk again, since he was shot in his spine. so, please pray for them...:crosself::sigh::(

Dear FATHER in Heaven,
We beseech thee to lay thy healing hands upon this man, restore him to perfect health, so that he will have no effects from this trauma; except LORD that he will draw ever closer to YOU and live fully for thee. Give him & his family & friends comfort & strength as they struggle to cope with this ordeal. Fill them with thy HOLY SPIRIT that they might know that You are with them. We also ask You to work upon the heart of the person who committed this act, that he might be drawn to the Cross of JESUS and fall to his knees begging for forgiveness. Wash him completely, FATHER, in the Blood of JESUS.
These things we ask in the Name of CHRIST our Savior

Lord, I ask that you would move in this household, and give them your peace and encouragement, and allow them to find hope and sanity in a world where a sense of safety may have been lost. Lord, watch over, protect and keep these your children, and bless their father / husband with a swift recovery, that your name might be glorified.

In Jesus' name we pray this,

Amen
