  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've been going through a rather tough time in my life right now, and I would appreciate prayers and good thoughts. I've had to stop speaking to my ex-fiance, because his attitude towards me is very negative, and he's been somewhat abusive in the past. It's very hard for me, because he used to play such a big role in my life, and at some points I was very dependent on him. Also, I'm working on becoming a better Christian, since I've drifted away from organized religion since starting college. I did some very un-Christianlike things, and I want to get back to where I belong. I'm taking steps to get back on the right track, but prayers would be very much appreciated.

I will be praying for you. Praise the Lord you decided to make the right steps and God will meet you. He is worth following and serving. 1 John 4:18

18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Sister you are pleasing to God regardless of what you did in the flesh. Seek out the word of God and meditate on it. You will have good success and your strength will return speedily. Let go of the past. Christ has paid for your sin. BELIEVE the truth over your feelings.

Pay attention to this for a second!

Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we [should be(1511)] holy and without blame before him in love:

G1511
εἶναι
einai
i'-nahee
Present infinitive from G1510; to exist

In the Greek the words [should be] come from a Greek word that means "to exist" in the present. Now reread it with this understanding:

Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we exist [presently] holy and without blame before him in love:

You see the blood of Christ has already cleansed you of all sin making you holy and righteous. Able to enter into the holy of holies to talk with your Father God who loves you. On top of that to be born again means you have a new life in you. Christ's life. His life is not defiled but holy and righteous. Being born again makes you a new creature. A righteous creature. Perfect. Even though you have not been fully transformed in your mind to the perfection that you are inside; identify with the real you. For me to live is Christ is what Paul said. It is no longer I that lives but Christ that lives in me!

There is a whole lot of fascinating things in the bible once you read it and wait on God for the revelation.

Your past is gone. Done with. Judged in Christ's death. Don't let the enemy accuse you. Where are thine accusers? Neither do I condemn you, said Jesus to the woman caught in adultery.

Pray for you friend. Forgive him. You can and will find strength in Christ. That's what he needs too. You were probably depending on one another instead of Christ. Rise up in Christ and seek Him!

My prayer for you as God watches me type is that you will come to know the mystery of Christ in you the hope of Glory! AMEN!

Praying for you dragonfruit. I ended an abusive marriage almost 2 years ago and fully relied on God to get me through it in one piece. A passage that was a cornerstone for me was Jeremiah 29:11. It says:

"For I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans for a hope and a future."

God has great things planned for your life! :)

Dear Dragonfruit,

I want you to know that I have asked the Lord to help you, and to give you peace in your heart in regards to your ex-fiance. It sounds as if you have been through a very difficult time, and it sounds like you truly have a desire to please the Lord.

I pray that the Father wraps His arms around you, and give you peace in your heart.

Dear Jesus You hear the words of this young woman's heart. I ask that You answer her prayers and help her to become a better Christian against all odds of pressure coming from every direction which is today even for older people. Lord I also ask that You send Your guardian angels to her to protect her in all she does. Lord Give her wisdom and understanding and help her to not give in and accept any kind of abuse, verbal, mental, emotional or physical abuse. Lord help her keep away from people who are like that. Give her a discerning spirit so she can know even when they are wonderful and charming whether or not they are bad for her. Bless her with who You want her to have. Bless her with good grades and good Christian friends. Help her to have a support system around her. Help her make the right choices. Lord Your Word says that the way to hell is wide but the way to heaven is narrow and few choose to follow that path for it is a challenge to do so. Because when you choose to follow that path you choose to go against the stream. Give her the strength she needs to do that. Bless her and keep her and give her the financial, emotional and physical support she needs to become successful in her life in Jesus Holy Name Amen
