Prayers for my son, please. In the middle of everything else he starts school and promptly gets a mild cold. It isn't bad, but my poor little boy is miserable.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Aw, prayers for your son. Are you sure he doesn't have allergies? My daughter always got the sniffles when she was little at this time of year and it was from allergies.

It's Tuesday night ... he's coughing a bit, but overall is much better. He's going back to school so that he doesn't drive his mother crazy. She's got the scratchy throat. Within two days she'll be into the cold.
I am at the back end: congested, a bit achey, and every half-hour I break out into a cold sweat. I tried to rinse my sinuses ( since I can't have decongestants ) and have managed to clog up an ear. I am officially eight kinds of miserable.

Prayers please everyone. My wife is being stalked and we are working with the police to press charges and put the guy back in prison where he apparently belongs. Scary night last night. Meetings today and a hearing on Monday. Wife and I are very distraught. Appreciate your prayers.

Update: There was a hearing on Monday and the judge upheld the order of restriction so it will now be in effect for one year. The guy appeared and offered testimony that (of course) it was my wife who had led him on and encouraged his attentions. The judge basically told him to shut up and granted the restraining order.
The temporary order didn't quite work the way we had understood it, and he is not in jail. We think the police had picked him up and held him over the weekend for his little trick on Thursday because he arrived at the hearing in handcuffs, but after the hearing he was free to go.
I'm hoping and praying that he decides he doesn't want to go to jail again and stays away. He sounded almost irrational on the stand, though, and we're still scared he might try something out of revenge.
