  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Since we had lost touch for the most part, it seems that he had been having much trouble with depression, and had suffered a number of breakdowns.

There is much guilt, anger, and sorrow and hopelessness among those close to him. It breaks my heart to see so much hurt.

It also troubles me deeply that they have all, for the most part forsaken their faith long ago.

Healing if possible is going to be hard and take a long time.

Bless you all for your prayers.

Mark

Thank you all for your prayers:).

My wife and I have just returned from the Funeral home.
While there was much reminiscing and fellowship, it grieves me most deeply at the anger and hatred that his first family is directing towards members of his second family.

I unfortunately am unable to attend services tomorrow, but my wife will be will be attending with her parents.

I pray that through the Scripture that will be read and the message preached; that the peace and joy of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ will, through the Power of the Holy Spirit bring healing and reconciliation:crossrc:. Amen.

This really is a tough situation when families get like that.

Thank you all for your prayers! They have been working; there has been a great deal of healing and reconciliation take place, and I believe that It will continue to progress in a positive way.

I do need some additional prayers though. This is starting to sound like a bad movie.

My brother in law had a son which he fathered when he was quite young. He has been trying to connect with his son for some time, and had learned that he and his mother had moved to Scotland. One of his nieces was searching for him on the internet, hoping to find him on face book or something similar.

She found an obituary. His son was 12 years old, and had hung himself in Scotland. His remains had been returned to Canada, and he was buried just a few miles from here. That was some months ago, and his father was never notified.

His father, Mike is grieving deeply, and is in need of our prayers. Tragedy does indeed seem to be visiting my wife's family this year.

God bless you all.

Mark.

Joyfulthanks, I was driving and even attended an annual convention in San Antonio two and half weeks after my hysterectomy, so it's not always as bleak as the docs might make it sound. You will need to rest more and take it very easy for at least a month, but you'll likely surprise yourself.

Keep praying and keep that sense of humor. You're going to need it. :p

Wow! The doc won't even let me drive for three weeks. I think I could handle a road trip after a couple of weeks, except that the seatbelt would be right over my 7-inch abdominal incision. I don't think that would work very well. :o

I'm actually doing really, really well for being one week post surgery. The only things I really can't do are lift things, and get out of bed or squishy chairs by myself. God has really blessed my recovery, and DH and my mom are taking great care of me.

Please, if you will, pray for a very good friend of mine named Vince who has lymphoma. It's very aggressive :(
Praying for Vince.

Aggressive lymphoma can be stopped with current medical procedures.
I've seen it stopped ... due to grace of God.

Thanks,
Ed

Prayers for everyone who is asking for them.

May I ask for prayers for my friend Mark who is beginning treatment for oral cancer. They are having to hit it pretty aggressively. Especially prayers for him to return to his faith of the past.

Praying for Mark.

From what I have seen, aggressive treatments is what curbs cancer.
A friend of mine was given 6 months to live - throat cancer.
That was a year ago and cancer is very quiet.

Also aggressive lymphoma in my family member was curbed to a very quiet state. He is doing preventive chemo (or whatever they do) now.

Praying for God's grace on Mark.

Thanks,
Ed

I'm lonely ... my job hangs by a thread ... there are precious few jobs in the area - most of which I'm not qualified for and would for all practical purposes eliminate my presence at home ... and there are very large medical bills heading our way.

( Routine stuff ... just expensive. )

I am about to either explode or turn into a bubbling puddle of goo, and if God has heard the stream of prayers I have offered up I have yet to receive a response.
