  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I ask for prayers for our son, Aaron. He and his family were here on vacation and they left Monday afternoon. He returned to work Thursday night shift. Last night he got caught in some of the machinery (he works heavy machinery repair). He lost portions of three fingers on his left hand. He was in surgery over night, but they couldn't re-attach the finger pieces. They sent him home from the hospital tonight, and he has a last protective frame around the hand. Of course, he is drugged heavily, but it was so good to hear his voice!

We are thankful he is alive! My wife's cousin was caught in machinery 40 years ago and died within hours.

How horrible, and thank God it wasn't worse. :prayer:

Oh wow ... thanks Lord it is not worse than it is.

Update on Aaron. The doctor let him go back to work the week after the accident - nothing with the "real work" but entering data in computer, passing messages, etc. The doctor figured he would be worse staying at home. He still goes to therapy 2-3 x per week. It will be 2-3 months before he can even think about doing what he had previously done. So, considering all, he is doing well.

Thanks for the prayers.

Prayers for my pregnancy and this bladder infection I am dealing with. It seems I'm always at the doctor and this is supposed to be a happy time. I have a glucola test tomorrow. :( Not up for it but have to do it.

Prayed that Aaron does well with therapy and comes through the accident outcome. That had to be painful.

I'd like to request prayer for DH and I to know God's will in something that's come up with the adoption.

Indeed praying for you.

Lord. we lift up to you Flipper and her husband during this special time of need and decision-making. Grant to them your wisdom, patience, and insight so that the they made be right with you in this. If there is any decision-making may it be pleasing in your sight. Also, give them peace about trusting you in all this. Bring them closer through these challenges and opportunities. Through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen

I just found out from my husband's mom, that his father's cancer is back again for the 3rd time. His dad is 79. I will have to tell hubby when he gets home from work. That is going to be very hard. We now live 15hrs from his dad and mom....and with a new job, it's hard to even think about going home for a visit.

There has just been so much going on in our lives these past few months. Please pray that God continues to give us strength.

Thanks! It's nothing bad. I just can't say what it is right now. :)

Prayers for both of you and your families:crossrc::crossrc::prayer::prayer::crossrc::crossrc:

Thanks for the prayers. I updated the situation in the Alehaus since I didn't think my ranting had any place here. Please continued prayers for the siblings that they can get the care and attention they need, and hopefully when the mess with the courts is straightned out, that a loving family (ours or someone else's) will be able to adopt them.
