Please pray for me. I have continued to struggle with the same cycle of being involved in relationships with individuals that end up abusing me, betraying me and doing things to cause me mental and emotional harm. I have been in both romantic relationships and friendships with individuals like this and I am so tired of it. The mental anguish that these individuals have caused me has taken so long to be healed from. Please pray that I will stop attracting these individuals and please pray for my permanent protection from them. Please also pray over my life spiritually regarding this.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It’s not about attracting abusive people but about separating from them once they show that type of behavior.

You can get tips on how to spot and avoid such people. And tips on how to deal with them if for some reason you can’t go no contact with them.
On YouTube you will see some videos by psychologists Dr. Les Carter and Dr. Ramini Which might be helpful. But really there are many people who are non-professionals who are sharing and giving good advice in my opinion.
I pray you will be led to people who are good for you and that you will be healed from the abuse you have suffered.

Lifting you up as requested in prayer. Are you dating Christians you meet through your church? There are no guarantees in life, but the odds might be a bit more in your favor if you start with Christians as opposed to secular society. That way, if you have problems, the local Pastor can meet with you and help get things on track.
