I had a fender bender with a Persian neighbor who doesn't speak English very well. I accidentally backed into his car when in a hurry to get to work. Because of the minor language barrier it was very rough to get the information we need from each other to make claims on our insurances and file accident reports to the DMV. We've been emotional with each other. I was able to submit a report and he claims that his insurance made a report too. He's also said that he made a claim with his insurance to get his car fixed and I also made a claim with my insurance so both our insurances can sort things out. I am hoping that this can be taken care of as quickly as possible and that something good will come out of all this for our sakes so that we aren't going broke and hating each other or demanding reimbursement from each other's pockets. Please pray for us. it's been causing a lot of stress, anxiety, and depression

If he made a claim through his own insurance he will likely have to pay his deductible up front but his insurance company will attempt to collect that back from your insurance company provided you are ‘at fault’ for the accident, so if he tries to present you a bill for his deductible just refer him to your claims adjuster. If you are at fault your own insurance should pay for your repairs less your applicable deductible presuming you have ‘full coverage’ or ‘collision’ coverage.

Yeah, I'm making sure he understands all that. My property liability damage is supposed to cover me for damage to his car and my insurance should be able to reimburse
