​ This Week's Prayer Guide November 10 - This week, pray for churches in Guangzhou and Foshan and the work of the gospel there. Pray that believers there will know the love of Christ in their lives and will increasingly fall more in love with him. November 11 - Leadership has changed over the last five years in Guangzhou, leading to more crackdowns in many areas of life. This includes increased pressure on the church. One church elder shares, “The past five years have been marked by constant government suppression.” Pray for churches to have unity and peace from the Holy Spirit in the midst of this increasing pressure. November 12 - One pastor in Guangzhou shares, “We used to share the Gospel freely in parks, with speakers and banners. Now, it's nearly impossible. Authorities often question us, effectively preventing evangelism. We now focus on reaching family and friends. We see the power of the Gospel at work. Our church has grown from 17 members five years ago to 48 now.” Pray for God to help this church as they reach out to their family and friends with the gospel. November 13 - A pastor in Guangzhou shares, “In the past few years, we have invested heavily in Christian education, thinking about the future of our children, the future of the church.” However, there have been increased crackdowns on Christian education in particular, with arrests and confiscation of materials. Pray for churches in the midst of these crackdowns. November 14 - A Guangzhou pastor notes, “For Reformed churches, we have another struggle: the academization of truth. The profound study of Reformed theology can easily lead to this academization if we don't maintain a balance. Truth must be missional.” Pray that Christians in Guangzhou would not simply make their faith an academic practice, but a missionally lived experience. November 15 - A pastor in Guangzhou says, “Pray for all the pastors. It's not easy for anyone. And pray that pastors can be devoted to Christ and His Kingdom. I think this is very important.
