​ This Week's Prayer Guide November 24 - This week, pray for the needs and challenges of the people in Guangzhou and Foshan. Pray that the church will witness Christ by loving and helping to meet the needs of their neighbors. November 25 - A pastor in Guangzhou says, “A pervasive pessimism hangs over Guangzhou-Foshan regarding the economic future and its impact on the people.” Pray for the people of Guangzhou in the midst of this pessimism and this economic downturn. November 26 - A pastor in Guangzhou shares, “I've also noticed a proliferation of psychiatric hospitals in Foshan. Many businesspeople and friends around me are struggling with depression.” Pray for the church to minister to people struggling with depression. November 27 - A pastor in Guangzhou says, “I'd also like to add a request for the parents in our churches in Guangzhou and Foshan. Pray for wisdom in raising their children and teaching them about the Gospel from a young age.” November 28 - One pastor in Guangzhou notes that “The government is actively promoting Mandarin and centralized education for easier control. There's a definite push to erase Cantonese culture.” Pray for believers who will reach out to Cantonese speakers with the gospel. November 29 - A brother who was imprisoned shares, “I believe God allowed me to go through this to help me better understand the people we serve.” Being in prison, he says, helped him get to know prison guards and people from lower stratas of society. Pray for God to continue softening the hearts of his people that they may love and reach out to people in society that may be overlooked. 虽然我出生在北京，但我的語言第一感更接近粵語。如果粵語消亡，中國人就離漢語古音更遙遠，而更像是一個滿族化和共產化的社會，燦爛的古典文化會被破壞和扭曲。香港（粵語和英語地區）會失去自由的國際地位。教會如果失去文化和語言的多樣性，就會減少活力。

Although I was born in Beijing, my first sense of language is closer to Cantonese. If Cantonese dies out, the Chinese people will be more distant from the ancient Chinese sound, and more like a Manchu and communist society, and the splendid classical culture will be destroyed and distorted. HK (Cantonese and English erea) will lose its free international statue. If the church loses cultural and linguistic diversity, it will reduce its vitality.
