Pray for My Lost Father

I've been mistreated by my dad... he's cheated on Mom many times... I used to admire him when I was younger... I wish that he could see the light, honestly. (The fact he preaches in groups without us, overseas in a compound, eats at me.)

Pray for him.

I'm sorry to hear that your dad hasn't treated you and your Mother the way he should. I'll pray about that.

It's a pointless hope, I assume, but I hope that one day he'll turn around and confess everything to me and genuinely apologize... that we'd seek God together once again.

That would be great if he could do that someday in the not too distant future. It sounds like you're somewhat skeptical that it could happen, as am I on some things like this, but it still doesn't hurt to pray about it. It's not easy to tell how God might work in your dad's mind and heart in some way or another.

I used to be a poet but instead of writing for myself, I only write to voice my raw thoughts these days. Here's my new poem.

"My father and I; we would study the Scripture
Grow closer to God despite my sheer obstinacy

But that was all a lie
All of it

Not only that, but his salvation is what I'm mostly worried about. I pray that he will recant of his hypocritical ways.

I am already on my way to forgiving him. I don't hold any hatred towards him, just distrust out of rational observations of what he's done.

We have all fallen short of the glory of God. We tend to only see one moment in time and apply that to all. As we know there is NOTHING our Father can not do.. and when we agree together in prayer.. as touching anything.. agreeing together.. its DONE by our Father.. praying..
