  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Guys, I could use some prayers. I was set to be baptized this upcoming sunday, and something has come up that I did not expect. I have to become a member of the church if I'm baptized there (because it says so in the Church Constitution) and I really don't think it is biblically a requirement nor do I want to be associated with any "worldly" denomination. As far as Im concerned, I became a "member" of the largest and only true church in the World, the Body of Christ. Just be praying for guidance for me on my decision. Also, be praying for me tomorrow, I'll be witnessing (not for the first time) to my grandma and grandpa in relation to baptisim, and I am hoping that I can present the gospel again to them. Thanks guys.

I will pray for you concerning this. Some churches do make you, or atleast they coerce you, to become a member of the church that you get baptized in. That is wrong, you should be able to have a choice where you are baptized, and where/if you become an actual "member" of a church. I will pray(and you should to) for the right words to say to your grandparents and for the Holy Spirit to convict them of their sin, and for them to accept the gift of salvation.
