CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

And now? See - the thing is - I know heaps of Christians that were praying against Trump winning the election. I was one of them.
Then he lost it. Fair and square. Anything to the contrary is tinfoil hat land.
Then QAnon drummed up a frenzy around "The Storm" where soldiers would storm in, take Biden away, and install the 'righteous' Donald Trump back as President. Except that was all tinfoil hat land as well. And dangerous! Dangerous because QAnon incited Pizzagate. And dangerous to the mental health of many as well. If you believe a secretive cabal of Satanic paedophiles are really running the world, and only Mr Trump could stand against them as part of "The Plan" (Trust the Plan! Trust the Plan!) - and then you see the whole thing crashing down - your mind could face a split with reality. Sweet people like this poor lady have had their mental health shattered by this - all because they don't have the sceptical filters to avoid the tinfoil hat crowd. I used to think QAnon were just a joke. But this next clip is just sad - really really sad. If this is how passionate people are getting about unverified online tinfoil hat land theories, I despair for the future of democracy and progress in any country.
