So, on saturday, I and about 20 others from my church will be travelling to Benton Harbor MI on a Youthworks trip. Everyday you can pray for our trip:
Each day please pray for: Health, safety and unity of the teams. Good restful sleep. That we stay focused on God so our words, actions and attitudes would be a pleasing witness to our faith in Christ. Clear communication among our Youthworks leaders and those we will be working along side at our work sites. Energy on the long, hot days. That we honor our hosts and the work site situations as gracious visitors. That the vans and all equipment work correctly. Safety in the vehicles as we transport our youth, other students and possibly local children.
SATURDAY, JULY 26 For our travel from Osseo to Madison WI. For safety in the vans. For alertness of the drivers. That the team will not break into cliques. For our training time in the evening. That we would be focused on the plan that God has for the week and not on ourselves. For humility, team bonding, and spiritual awareness. That we would be good guests in our host church and honor God in our words, actions and attitudes.
SUNDAY, JULY 27 Safe arrival in Benton Harbor and acclimation to our lodging at the salvation army. That the work team formation would go smoothly, and God would place each person in exactly the right team.
MONDAY, JULY 28-THURSDAY JULY 31 For safety, enthusiasm and energy for our work projects in Benton Harbor. For ways to love the children and adults we will meet and spend time with. That we may have open eyes for chances to share our faith in action and words. For patience and care among our team and towards others. That we would be viewed as respectful and honoring by our hosts and the community. Protection to deal with heat, humidity, and local conditions we are not used to.
FRIDAY, AUGUST 1 For safe travel back to Madison, WI. Good opportunities to de-brief our experience relax and rest for the trip home. That God would lead us in seeing what was important to for us to see and understand both with our minds and hearts. Rich sharing and worship. Joy in the completion of our experience!
SATURDAY, AUGUST 2 For our travel to Osseo. For safety in the vans. For alertness and patience of the drivers. For a wonderful time of travel and sense of unity as we return home. For the right words to share our experiences with our families and sweet reunions on our return. That God would help us hold tight to the changes He initiates into our lives from this experience!
Thanks for your prayers for this trip!
