Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Um ... Lucaspa ... qv please: 26.

The link worked for me. There you go. As you say, what you meant to refer to is a list of "contradictions and superstitions" in the Bible.

Are you also willing to withdraw the "Internet scientist" claim?

Right, so you assume that we all know this imaginary list. So either you're a conspiracy theorist or you're just trolling.

Or are you going to give a link to this list? It isn't hard you know, you just copy and paste.

Since AV said in post #26 that he meant to say a list of alleged contradictions and superstions in the Bible. I posted a link to a blog that does that. If you want a more extensive list, you can go here: Biblical Errancy

As I said, if you want to find the evolutionary PRATT list, that list of creationist claims at talkorigins is a good place to start. Another is Scientific American's article "Answers to Creationist Nonsense" at
15 Answers to Creationist Nonsense: Scientific American

So you're not really talking about anything... good to know.

Actually, I think him linking that post was an admission that he's playing dumb to aggravate people. In other words: Trolling.

Do atheists ever modify their list of claims that they say refutes theism or Christianity? Not that I can see. I see the same old dogmatic claims again and again.

If the claims of the theists don't change, do the answers, refutations, and counterclaims from atheists really need to change?

See? He's only reaffirming what I suspected. Way to troll us, AV.
If asking a simple question like I asked in the OP constitutes trolling -- then I plead, "guilty".

Who knows? maybe someday someone will even answer it.

You keep on playing dumb, AV, like you don't know why we think you're trolling.

I was accused of trolling before you even joined this site.

So what? Am I supposed to be impressed at how long you've been trolling people or what? But you just keep on acting like you don't know why you're trolling this thread.

I apologize, sandwiches.

I came across as being called a troll before you ever joined here.

I could have done better.

It's "supertroll" -- qv please (and note the date): 203 .

Just in case you're truly at a loss as to why you seem to be trolling and you're not just playing martyr, again, let me break it down:

1) You start a thread on a PRATT list
2) You're asked to provide said list
3) You then say it should've been a list of contradictions and superstitions
4) You're asked to provide said list
5) You then keep linking to a posting talking about how some people must be doing things just to make creationists angry.
6) When asked for the list, you just keep posting link after link of irrelevant posts.

If you're not trolling, provide the list, some examples, or admit you don't know of any or where to find the list. If you do post the same nonsense link, I'll admit that I've been trolled like a chump and be done here.

It's any list, sandwiches -- any list at all.

Make one up, if you can't find one.

My question still stands.

Has anyone ever made a list of contradictions, then had to delete an item off of it?

This thread came about when I read -- for about the 10th time -- that stuff about Leviticus 14 giving a prescription for curing leprosy, when the leper is already cured.

Now -- have you, or have you not, ever seen anyone edit his own list?

In addition, if you made one up, and someone explained an item on your list to your satisfaction, would you remove it from your list?

Personally, I have never seen such a list. In fact, I didn't even know what PRATT was until today. I guess I never consciously kept such a list but I guess we all do, even if only subconsciously. To answer your question: Yes, I would definitely stop using a contradiction as an argument, if someone proved to me that it wasn't a contradiction to my satisfaction. Why wouldn't anyone?

Ok, if you are referring to every list of biblical problems ever complied by anyone, then yes, some lists get modified to include removal of items.

The Leviticus reference was removed from my so-called 'list' long ago.
I also removed the common interpretation of Lucifer as a former non-human angel who rebelled against the Christian deity (i.e. the specific angel who supposedly became "Satan"/the Devil) from my "list". Yes, I know, in this specific case, I'm generalizing, and this isn't the appropriate forum to discuss it, but I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.
Additionally, although it's not a "contradiction", the ongoing question about "Why 6 days of creation with a day of rest?" was answered for me about 20 years ago, so that question/challenge/superstition has been crossed of my "list" as well.
And one further ongoing question was also answered a decade or so ago- "How did Noah feed and water and support ALL those animals for the entire duration of the worldwide flood?". Answered, and hence taken off my 'list'.

So yes, AV, some people do modify their 'lists'.

Now how's your list going? :p

Wouldn't just one person somewhere who has, show your answer to be wrong?

And for the record, there is no 'YOU' in 'the sequence'.

It sure would, find an example and prove him wrong!
