Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Well ouch i actually thought i made a fair attempt at answering your question :purple:
I didn't mean you, EDS -- I was talking about 'over the years' here.

My large post count is a testament to how long I have to wait sometimes for an answer.

Are items ever taken off the PRATT list?

By way of example, Internet scientists like to bring up how, in Leviticus 14, lepers were prescribed the blood of certain non-avian dinosaurs being an effective antidote; as an example of medical ignorance due to religion.

Despite repeated efforts to show them that they are already cured of the leprosy beforehand, the item still remains on the PRATT list.

So, is the PRATT list ever edited to delete items, or does it just keep getting bigger and bigger?

(Note: the purpose of this thread is not to discuss items that belong on the PRATT list, it is to discuss items that don't belong on the PRATT list.)

PRATT = Point Refuted A Thousand Times
First off, I think you mean "avian dinosaur," rather than "non-avian dinosaur." Just another example how you confuse yourself with your own semantic games, as it would be simpler to say "birds," to begin with.

Secondly, I will ask when are you going to stop using Pluto, Thalidomide and "Go at Throttle-Up," as blanket arguments against any scientific argument we make?

Almost sounds like how Pluto was demoted: 32.

I guess no time soon, huh? I guess we don't need to take anything off the PRATT list, then.. :p

Or maybe it has more to do with how you side-step answering so many questions.....

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools... always interesting to see someone trip over their own vanity.

Seeing as AVET is carefully ignoring the 'something worth replying to', I'll put in bigger letters:

WHAT PRATT LIST?

LINK PLEASE

I inadvertently called this a PRATT list, when I meant list of contradictions and superstitions.

My error.

The PRATT list is something else altogether.

OK:

WHAT LIST OF CONTRADICTIONS AND SUPERSTITIONS?

LINK PLEASE

I'm sure there are a number of lists that various people keep, so we need to know exactly what list you are talking about.

Right, so you assume that we all know this imaginary list. So either you're a conspiracy theorist or you're just trolling.

Or are you going to give a link to this list? It isn't hard you know, you just copy and paste.

I think you are confused about what a PRATT list is. I think you are also confused about what a "scientist" is. "Internet scientists"? Seriously?

Scientific PRATT lists are in response to particular creationist claims -- such as the bombardier beetle's ability to squirt toxic chemicals could not have evolved.

What you seem to have, instead, is an atheist claim about Leviticus 14 being an example of medical ignorance. According to you, that claim is a PRATT:

Despite repeated efforts to show them that they are already cured of the leprosy beforehand, the item still remains on the PRATT list.

IOW, you have your own PRATT list, with this particular atheist claim on it.

Do atheists ever modify their list of claims that they say refutes theism or Christianity? Not that I can see. I see the same old dogmatic claims again and again.

Do creationists ever modify their list of claims? Sometimes. For instance, Answers in Genesis has a list of arguments that creationists are no longer supposed to use. Do creationists listen? Not much. I still see the claims on that list made by creationists on various internet boards, including this one.

For anyone interested, here is where you can start with an evolutionist PRATT list of creationist claims: An Index to Creationist Claims

I did not find the claim in the OP in this list.

I did find a site that is "Bible Study for Atheists" that has Leviticus 14: Bible Study for Atheists: Leviticus 14

However, this site does not misstate Lev. 14 as AV claimed in the OP. It clearly states that the leper is cured before all the ceremonies are done.

Maybe he's talking about the PRATT lists that AIG and such have on their sites saying, "For the love of god stop using these, we don't endorse them any more."
