  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Mexican food. There has to be some kind of Mexican food, usually a dip, but I make something called South of the Border or whip up some chorizo and eggs with lots of onions, cheese and warm flour tortillas.

For dessert, I usually bring what my grandmother calls "pink stuff". It's super easy and really not at all a bad dessert if you're worried about sugar or calories. :)

sugar free Jell-O mix, small box (any flavor, but raspberry and cherry are favorites)
cottage cheese, small container (large if you use a big box of Jell-O)
canned pineapple (drained), 1 can is usually plenty (cherries are good, too)
regular size container of whipped cream (large if you use a big box of Jell-O)

Stir together the whipped cream and Jello-O mix, add whipped cream and pineapple. Mix well. Cover and store in refrigerator for several hours, if not overnight.

Serve and enjoy.

Ahh your "pink stuff" is our "Fluffy stuff with the pineapples." *G* *I* Don't eat it 'cause I'm not a canned pineapple person and the fresh is just too darn expensive to "waste". *G* But I hear it's really good. Mom makes that all the time along with her pretzel stuff. I'll have to get her recipe for that. If you like the "pink stuff" you'd love the pretzel stuff.
