I think it's in preferences on your CP.
I don't like the e-mail, fills up to fast, don't need a notification about every post.
Had the e-mail turned on at the other place for a while, didn't check my e-mail, when I did there was 500+ e-mails to be deleted.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Uh, I didn't plan on keeping it a "secret". If you want to worship a dead fat guy, that's your business. Me, I prefer to worship the waffel on the ceiling.

Personally, I prefer to just go to my user cp and look there to see if there are any new posts to threads that I have posted in.
