CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My story is real simple -- I was saved when I was five; at about 19 or 20 I was dragged to a church (by a non-Christian no-less -- Lynn, that girl with the two alcoholic parents); a church where I learned what it means to be Christian. And now I'm alive!

the blind date is the rest of the story. she convinced me that she needed pictures of me dressed up... so I did it out in the front yard.. and as soon as we went in the house a limo pulled up here comes this guy I had never seen (the drs son) to take me out...
when I got home my suitcase was on the front porch with congratulations on it, and the locks were changed! the dentists son was in on it

I think for my mom it had to do with the fact that she was single and felt it took away her womanhood.
When a guy asked me out personally, I would let him down easy. The only time I was rude was when they could not take a gentle "no" for an answer.

That's a good one. Once my friend's mother insisted on her courting this boy from her church. But she refused so she had me and my sister write love notes to her and sign them the guys name. This went on for an entire school year.
