Post Something Inspiring

It's pretty self-explanatory - a thread in which to encourage one another with stories, poems, pictures, music, and even mini-movies with positive, inspiring, and heartwarming messages. These pieces can either be serious or lighthearted in nature, so long as you feel there is something beneficial to be gained from it. My hope is that we can help one another through the things we choose to post in this thread.

I'll begin by posting an Our Gang comedy short. It is entitled Beginner's Luck. It is a funny little story about how a reluctant Spanky is pushed by his mom to perform on stage in a talent contest in order to start him in an acting career. While at the contest, he makes a new friend and ends up doing something really nice for her. It's approximately 17 minutes long, but worth watching.

I think about the earth and how it faces the sun in the daytime and then when turns away from the sun things get dark. I also consider summertime and winter, when the earth gets father away from the sun it gets cold and unpleasant, but when it gets closer to that sun again then things get warm and pleasant once again. I think about how we must bask in Gods glory in order to feel warmth and life, and if we turn away from him then things will get dark and if we get farther away from Him then things get cold. I dunno, just a thought.

Good thought Restore, reminded me of part of Psalm 19:

The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.

This scripture always inspires me and I often share it with those who seem to lack direction and need hope that God cares and has not forsaken them.

Are you homeless, living on welfare and/or foodbanks, poor as a church mouse, living from paycheck to paycheck? And what's more, reviled for being poor, called a parasite and accused of making bad choices.

The chances are that at a deep level you chose to give your heart over to Christ. 'Where your treasure is, there your heart is.' Imagine: you have the spirit of glory hanging over you at all times.

When Christ was transfigured in glory on Mt Tabor, the disciples only saw what they had been unable to see before, but which had been there all the time. The same applies to you.
