• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Mare Orientale located on the border of the Near side and Far side of the Moon. Difficult to see for Earth based observers. This image was taken by Orion spacecraft Integrity of Artemis II. This mission marks the first time in human history the entire basin has been seen with human eyes.

Jupiter's moon Europa. Second of the Galilean moons (Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto). One of the smoothest bodies on the Solar System and likely harboring an ocean under its surface. It is a candidate for extraterrestrial life. The Europa Clipper mission is heading there to study it, as is JUICE (Jupiter Icy moon Explorer) that will also study Callisto and Ganymede. Europa was the setting for the hard sci fi film Europa Report (2013). Image was taken by the Juno probe.

Saturn's moon Tethys disappears behind Titan as observed by Cassini. Tethys is about 1,070 kilometers (660 miles) across. At about 5,100 kilometers (3,200 miles) wide, Titan is larger than the planet Mercury and was much closer to Cassini than Tethys at the time of this image.

Eta Carinae. A cosmic outburst 7,500 light-years away. The image was taken by the Hubble Space Telescope. The dramatic, two-lobed structure, known as the Homunculus Nebula, was created by a massive eruption in the 1840s. The expanding nebula contains enough material to make at least 10 suns.
