• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I really don't want to go to er but I can't pay anything upfront. I have very mild pains in my sides and low back and let and have had cramps and a little nausea going on for a while it's kinda of like off and on. I had urinary urgency but I tried some self treatments. Apple cider vinegar water and I tried rubbing diluted essential oils into the pelvic area. Nothing excruciating though. I'm just worried about it progressing to kidney failure if it is an infection.

I don't want to pay a bill though, cant afford it at all, and still in the process of getting Medicaid it's a long process.

Urgentcare charges like $145 upfront that's like a whole weeks pay can't do it.
Suggestions?

Setup a GoFundMe page.

You should be able to get enough for Urgentcare in a few days, at most.

Let me give you my experience with GoFundMe ...

I've contributed to various requests, including ...

* Hospital care for a friend's toddler who was very ill
* Funeral costs for a fellow church member

I've also set up and managed a GoFundMe page for a relative who needed assistance with getting medical care.

It's not hard to setup ... and you can have your campaign out there within a day's time. To be most effective, you'll need a photo, a compelling story, which you have, and a reasonable goal (which you have). Some campaigns raise thousands of dollars. We ultimately raised over $2,000.00, but had raised $500.00 or more in the first few days the campaign was started.

Besides that, you'll need a list of friends/acquaintances/others ... to which you can send your request. GoFundMe works best through Facebook, where you hopefully already have Friend connections. Otherwise, you'll need to collect e-mail adresses, and ask your initial contacts to spread your campaign.

Check it out ...

Why don't you want to go to ER ?

As this point, it's all about getting the care you need ... before the situation progresses, right ?

Really, you should go to the ER. Insurance be damned. But if you're REALLY certain you should get coverage first, your only option to get anything right now is through you state's medicaid program or enrolling in a health share ministry.

Probably out of fear of a huge bill. It's not uncommon for folks to get bills in the thousands for a visit to the ER.

It's a valid concern, and I don't want to minimize that. But it's also not uncommon for people to die from infections because they didn't get medical treatment. The primary concern here shouldn't be money.

Could be kidney stone , doctors say it's like giving birth but the other way .
If you stopped peeing then either kidney failure or kidney stone is pushing through so wait 2-3 days .

If doctors will expect kidney stone they will send you back home and will require you to come again in few days so it's pointless you will just pay twice the fee .

Also I'm not doctor .

Well now I agree fully that the primary concern shouldn't be about money but you have to think about it. You have to be able to pay your mortgage, put food on the table, put clothes on your kids, etc. It's going to be harder to take of necessities for life if you're slammed with a crazy expensive bill from an ER visit. Now sometimes that visit is necessary but plenty of times folks would have been better off going to a walk in clinic or to the nearest CVS to try OTC treatments 1st.
