  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Positive Thinking Challenge

When I'm down I always try to put a positive spin on the situation. You know, find the bright side of everything. I've decided to bring that thinking into the forums. Heres what I'm asking you to do:

1. State what day you are on
2. Post the best thing that happened to you today.
3. Post the worst thing that happened to you today or happened previously but still effects you today.
4. Post the positive spin on the bad thing that happened.

The challenge part of this is to do it for 5 days in a row. Truely think about what you post and put sincere answers. Its no secret that our generation and those after have a higher chance of suffering from Clinical Depression and other similar ailments. Less exercise our mind and emotional health by bringing on the happier thoughts.

Day ONE

--- Today the best thing that happened was that I got a puppy with my best friend that lives with me. Now with two dogs who we call "our babies", I feel us getting closer. In that closeness I feel security.
--- The hardest thing going on isn't something that happened exactly today but I am being constantly reminded of it. A person who was so close to me that my family even considered family betrayed us all recently. I have known them for over ten years, every little thing reminds me of them and in turn reminds me of the betrayal. It's been rough.
--- My positive spin on it is this. Despite the end of that relationship, I don't regret a bit of it. I wouldn't be who I am today without having had them in my life. Most days who I am is pretty alright :p

Day TWO

--- The best thing that happened today was I got to play out in the yard with my three year old niece and my two puppies :D It was a beautiful day outside.
--- The worst thing that happened today was that I was in a minor vender bender.
--- Despite having to pay for the damages sense I was at fault, its not going to be overly expensive and no one was hurt.

1. First day (Sunday)
2. I encouraged one of my cell group students to really work at their relationship with God.
3. Hit the snooze button (alarm goes off at 7.40am) to wake me up to go to cell leaders meeting before the first service, (I'm a cell group leader in the high school ministry) but the snooze button didn't come back on and i woke up at 9.20am and i was basically an hour late into service!! (got there at 10am)
4. Not to rely on the snooze lol

1. Day one.
2. I hung out with some friends that I wasn't very close to a few months ago and we seem to continue to grow closer so thats fun.
3. The church I'm working as a volunteer for has been maybe going to pay me for about 6 months now, and I still don't fully know whats happening, and today from what I heard I may be waiting at least another month before I hear.
4. It's been a time of trusting on God for finances and I've been learning a lot about His faithfulness.
