These men are becoming sexually dead to real life flesh and blood women with real breasts, who have pubic hair and who menstruate. Their wives and girlfriends are having to resort to drastic means to keep their men interested in them. A few decades ago it was enough to just be naked but now women can't have any kind of physical imperfection, they have to be lean as whippets, toned, tanned, have big breasts which defy gravity by not sagging and absolutely no pubic hair or any body hair other then that which grows on top of her head.

I absolutely disagree with this.

FYI, I dont like the physically perfect women who look like stick figures.

I have to agree with Athene on this. That is the very essence of why I don't personally like porn and prefer that my husband not watch it. Beyond even what she said, though, it does change a person's ideas about sex. Unless you watch soft-core porn turns sex into a hard, fast means to an end. In hard-core porn the men don't have to try to please the women and the women have loud [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] because he was ramming her. Some women like that kind of sex all the time, most probably like it sometimes, but those type of movies make it so men (and some women) think that is what it is supposed to be. It can leave you feeling sexually repressed if that just isn't your thing. Someone who enters into a sexual relationship with a person who watches a lot of porn could find that they are totally unsatisfied or, even worse, left feeling used and unloved.

That is the reason I would not want my son to have access to it (going back to an earlier question) until a few real women show him the ropes. Porn, as with most other things, should be used in moderation. Supplemental material, if you will. The people who don't have a real person to have sex with are both the ones who watch it the most and the ones who should watch it the least. IMHO

Thief is simply stealing, stealing with the intent to destroy (willful destruction of property) is a felony. Two misdemeanors committed as part of one conspiracy is upgraded to a class D felony. Up to 1 years in jail, 250,000$ maximum fine and you can get taken to the cleaners in civil court.

Where are you getting this from? I only ask because when I looked it up in a law dictionary, this is what I found:

theft
n. the generic term for all crimes in which a person intentionally and fraudulently takes personal property of another without permission or consent and with the intent to convert it to the taker's use (including potential sale). In many states, if the value of the property taken is low (for example, less than $500) the crime is "petty theft," but it is "grand theft" for larger amounts, designated misdemeanor or felony, respectively.

misdemeanor
n. a lesser crime punishable by a fine and/or county jail time for up to one year. Misdemeanors are distinguished from felonies, which can be punished by a state prison term. They are tried in the lowest local court such as municipal, police or justice courts. Typical misdemeanors include: petty theft, disturbing the peace, simple assault and battery, drunk driving without injury to others, drunkenness in public, various traffic violations, public nuisances and some crimes which can be charged either as a felony or misdemeanor depending on the circumstances and the discretion of the District Attorney.

Willful destruction laws seem to be based more on the value of the item you've destroyed, in this case a magazine being of such low value that the destruction isn't noteworthy, unless the person could show sentimental value. I don't think conspiracy charges would hold up since it is really just him being a bit of a jerk, but...

harassment
(either harris-meant or huh-rass-meant) n. the act of systematic and/or continued unwanted and annoying actions of one party or a group, including threats and demands.

Anyway, I'm just using a law dictionary, so I will have to go with your judgment on this particular point if you have a better source. :)

This black and white mentality, where something is either entirely good or entirely bad, is getting very old. The world is NOT black and white. Are there those out there that abuse pornography, yes. There are also those that abuse alcohol, caffeine, prescription medicines, cars, their spouses, their children, their own bodies, etc. Any activity when taken to the extreme can be unhealthy. But that very same action in moderation can often be beneficial to the person.

You have a prohibition type attitude. "It can be bad so lets just get rid of it entirely". Firstly, thats extremely insulting to those of us that enjoy sexual materials, often times with our respective spouses. But more importantly, we know from experience that prohibition does not work. We saw its effects with the rise of the Mafia during the original prohibition, and we see it today in the continued dominance of illegal drugs in our world. Frankly, its quite similar in the world of sex. The traditional nudity taboos are what caused the Porn business to thrive to begin with. If people weren't constantly told that sex was dirty, that the human body was something to hide away from the world, that seeing a breast was going to turn them into a mindless rapist, the porn industry wouldn't be even a shadow of what it is today.

You don't like porn? You have two very simple solutions.

1. Don't watch it, read it, or buy it.
2. Grow the hell up and stop being disgusted with the very bodies and natural instincts you claim your god gave you. The sooner you stop turning sex into forbidden fruit, the sooner it stops being a "problem" in our society.

Perhaps the most important thing about this whole topic though, is it highlights one of the biggest problems in our country today. The inability of the religious contingent to mind their own business and leave other peoples private lives private.

I believe you have misunderstood me, I am unaware I have given any indication that I am anti sex, anti nudity or that I wish to prohibit your porn viewing pleasure. My intention was to explain why I consider pornography to be exploitative. I believe it exploits the male consumer by appealing to their sexual inadeqacies, and to any latent feelings that women should be subserviant. I also believe it exploits women by objectifying them and giving them feelings of inadequacies as they constantly fail to live 'up' to the standards set by the women who appear in pornography.

My anti-pornography stance is nothing to do with my religious beliefs and everything to do with being a woman, and not only a woman but one with daughters. Notice I have not made one 'God hates pornography' argument. My concerns are that my daughters are growing up in a world where most young men learn about sex from the internet, where they learn that all women have perfect bodies and huge breasts, that they're always gagging for it and they're happy to have it any which way you please.

This quote by Naomi Wolfe says it all for me.

For how can a real woman—with pores and her own breasts and even sexual needs of her own (let alone with speech that goes beyond “More, more, you big stud!”)—possibly compete with a cybervision of perfection, downloadable and extinguishable at will, who comes, so to speak, utterly submissive and tailored to the consumer’s least specification?

I have a bad habit of quoting someone I want to respond to then turning it into a general statement towards the thread. This would be one of those cases.

Mmm okay guys about this theft thing, the guy my husband did that too didnt care that he did....my husband is trying to help him come to christ and he is slowly but surely turning over....

Well tell your husband it is not acceptable behavior in a lawful society. If someone did that to me, he would be lucky if the police got to him before I did.

You still are missing the point. Whether or not the victim forgave your husband or just didn't care, it is still theft and your husband forcing his view son another.

I made an argument similar to this during a discussion with my sister regarding why I, as a feminist, do not take issue with stripping. You said it better than I did... too bad she isn't on the forums.

Throwing away magazines is not a felony. It's petty theft at the absolute worst. However, you make a good point. I vaguely remember the Bible saying in it that you should following the laws of the land. So, if I remember correctly, every time her husband does that he is sinning against God. It seems he would be better off working out HIS OWN salvation with fear and trembling and leaving his coworkers to work out theirs.

Promise is 20 years old and, according to her CF homepage, has only been married 6 months. We should all just get off her back and accept her naivety for what it is. She'll figure it out eventually.
Hahaha Im not naive. I am full of wisdom from God. I would rather be wise than smart. I would rather know God, than spend an eternity in hell. Whatever you guys want to think is okay. If God is for me who can be against me. You cannot pursecute me because I am young...age doesnt matter...its maturity...and trust me Im way more mature than alot of you. I have self-control to not look at such ridiculous images than only exploit and destroy souls. I have a solid marriage that isnt destroyed by porn or such evils. I am happy and confident in the Lord.

I have already figured it out as well....I have figured it out how evil the things people do are...how is that naive?

Porn all started from a dirty-minded camera man....actually the idea is formulated in sin and evil....Porn is a 'god' that people worship...they get addicted to it..and behind the curtain is satan...just soaking it in as you sell your soul

Porn has been around for thousands of years.

Great, we now know what you think about porn. Now what exactly are you wanting from the rest of us? It's clear we don't agree, so I don't see where this conversation can go. We're at an impasse.

Umm okay? And that backs what up???
God has been around forever.....Satan as well. Satan is behind it all...and just because you cannot see him doesnt mean he doesnt exsist. In the beginning it was perfect, until sin messed it up. That is why the world is like it is. Satan lies to you...to everyone....wanting you to believe what you believe....he will get anybody to do anything that goes against God so he can have their souls
