• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

You will go to hell if you don't repent. Nothing is worth it. This is a video of an Atheists testimony and what he experienced there. Viewer discretion is advised.

I'm glad you came for help. That's an important first step. You cannot get better without help from God and others. But with their help, you CAN get better.

It's important to find somebody that you can tell your whole story to. A trained counselor would be the best, but really ANYONE that you can really tell all your junk to would be a good start. Somebody you can tell the TRUTH to.

You have to quit lying and quit hiding. This addiction is all based so heavily in shame. You are probably hiding this from many people around, you, maybe everyone. Those secrets and hiding are a big part of the problem.

The Bible says,
This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.  If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:5-7 (NASB)

And

Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. James 5:16 (NASB)

Did you get that? Walking in the light..... fellowship with one another..... confessing our sins to one another and praying with one another is the path for recovery. You can't hide it any more. You have to walk in the light. Someone said, "We're only as sick as our darkest secrets." And it's true.

Talk to somebody. And read some good books.

This one is really good and you will find it enormously helpful:
