I haven't either, but I'm pretty sure it involves all the things I mentioned in my earlier post.I've never been in a homosexual relationship so I don't pretend to know what one looks like from the inside.
I do not know a single married couple that are christian as in my field of work or in the type of business I own Christians are extremely rare. And you know exactly what I mean by my question you are just being deliberately obtuse.
I am much happier now that I stopped associating with the Christian couples I knew from years ago, ignorance was their primary stock in trade and since most of them do not approve of my career or my business I do not have to continually explain why what I do is important. If you don't know a single married Christian couple perhaps it is time to expand your horizons and enlighten your mind.
DittoGood grief! Dealing with this stone age, tribal, god of the dessert mentality, really gets to me sometimes.

The fact that I do research in genetics and that I am part owner in a microbrewery. It says in your profile that your a Geneticist. The Study of Genetics. What exactly don't they approve of.
Read the book of Ecclesiastes that will make it clear.
If you don't know a single married Christian couple perhaps it is time to expand your horizons and enlighten your mind.
Does anyone have an extra irony meter? Mine just blew up.I've never been in a homosexual relationship so I don't pretend to know what one looks like from the inside.
Now, in reading this book, what are the qualifications I have to determine what it means? I cannot read Hebrew, and I'm also not a Jewish theologian, and I would want to consult with one of those since it is, after all, their book.
What are you qualifications to read and understand exactly what it means?

It's not hard to read. Many, many well qualified scholars in many different disciplines have studied it out and come up with very accurate translations of exactly what it means.
You don't even need to read Hebrew as God has been gracious enough to give us men and women to translate it into nearly every single known language in the world.
You're a slippery little eel, aren't you? Are you a politician by any chance? You'll notice I didn't try to define what a gay marriage looks like.
Translators are not theologians. They lose meaning and subtlety.
Did you know that the author of the book the English refer to as "The Hunchback of Notre Damn" HATED that title as he intended it to be "The Cathedral of Notre Damn"? That was the TITLE of the book they mistranslated, no telling what they missed inside of it.
The text that make up the Bible weren't translated by two or three "translators" They've been made up of entire teams of scientists from many different walks of life (archeology, linguistics, anthropologists, zoologists, etc, etc).
Point is that we're not talking about 2 or 3 old stressed out men trying to meet a deadline who translated it. There was a lot of work put into getting it as accurate as possible.
You're a slippery little eel, aren't you? Are you a politician by any chance?
You may have satisfied yourself with your evasion tactics, but the rest of us see right through them.
Let's cut to the chase, shall we? When I said - "I'm sure they describe their own marriage as a hell of a lot more than just "sex acts"", what was your point in replying with - "How would you describe a homosexual relationship?"? No BS. No Lies. No giving yourself some wiggle room. Just tell me straight up your honest and truthful answer. What was the point of that question?
And remember, Jesus is watching.
Yet, there are still mistranslations present. Not to mention the fact that you ignore the fact that words in some languages do not have compatible words in other languages. Are you now suggesting that the "teams" of people who translated the Bible were also divinely inspired?
How is it that you go from:Now, in reading this book, what are the qualifications I have to determine what it means? I cannot read Hebrew, and I'm also not a Jewish theologian, and I would want to consult with one of those since it is, after all, their book.

Well since we're shouting, Why would you ask me that question? Why don't you just ask homosexual couples that question? I'm sure they'd be happy to tell you.I don't need to lie or bs. I asked because I wanted to know how someone would describe a homosexual relationship. Simple as that. No ulterior motives. Just asked for the sake of gaining knowledge.
Persecution complex much? The only sad thing around here is the fossilization of human thought, and scripture does that quite nicely.Sad that I have to point something so obvious out, but if I don't someone will try to twist what I said.
You write as if you have some authority. So with that said how about showing me some "mistranslations"? Let me refresh your memory with what you said just a short while ago-
How is it that you go from:
How do you go from all that to saying "there are still mistranslations present"
- not being able to read Hebrew
- not being a Jewish theologian
- not clearly understanding the "qualifications" necessary to know what it really says
