• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I don't know who you have as your ISP but MSN 9 has a pop up stopper included with it I believe. I think the most recent version of AOL does as well.

Google Toolbar

and

Pop-Up Stopper Free Edition 3.1.101

are supposed to be pretty effective and free...

Me, I like my Opera and Firefox...

All of these will work. I actually don't have a external program because I use Opera which has a built in AD blocker and I never get any popups. I hear Google is the next best but I have not tried it personally.

I use opea and it's been great with blocking popups- it's really worth downloading if you can find the space. Firefox is better, but have found it to be a bit buggy. One to download in a few months perhaps.

Google Toolbar's my app of choice. 1096 popups blocked and still doesn't miss a beat. It also has an autofill feature where you can insert your details and when you are at a website requiring your name and address, you can just press the autofill button and save yourself some typing.

I've had really good luck using the hosts file. Don't even ask me to explain how it works tho...it was something that came with kazaa lite many moons ago. You can get lists of the most common ad sites and block them and even add sites to it. I don't have any pop ups at all.
