If Mary "didnt need one" then even less so that Christ did, don't you think?
She probably did. She seemed the obedient type.
but, I don't know if she did or didn't.
My thoughts exactly. If Mary "didnt need one" then even less so that Christ did, don't you think?

I honestly don't know. I know she had no need of water baptism because she was sinless but I think that in all likelihood she probably was baptized as a member of the Catholic Church.
I agree. If Mary "didnt need one" then even less so that Christ did, don't you think?

Only if you believe water baptism is necessary for salvation. The bible doesn't address this topic, but I see no reason to believe she wouldn't. II do believe Mary got saved, accepting the sacrifice she witnessed. If anyone knew why Jesus came to Earth is was her.does it matter?
I realize I am being nit-picky here, but Shekinah, the presence of HaShem, rested upon mercy seat ATOP the Ark of the covenant. The contents within were Aaron's staff, a jar of manna, and the tablets of the covenant. The thief on the cross to Christ's right was not baptised, so I guess that "all" is a general rule for which God is allowed to make exceptions.
The Ark of the covenant was made holy through God taking residence within, how much more so was Mary through her carrying God within her womb for nine months and providing nourishment from her breast for many months afterwards. She was in constant contact and the most intimate fellowship with our creator so it would not surprise me in the least if she was an exception from the "all" in more ways than one![]()
what is the purpose of the water baptism? If her son, the Son of G-d, was baptized, why would his mother do differently?

It is, unless I am mistaken, because the tablets of the COVENANT are within the Ark that the analogy between the Ark and Miriam (Mary) is drawn -- as the Ark carried the Older Covenant, so Miriam carried within her He who was the New Covenant. Nothing to do with Shekinah. Otherwise we would be comparing Miriam to the tabernacle, or the holy of holies.
