These are the main reason for this war:

1. Oil--U.S. desire for greater control over Iraqi oil resources.

2. U.S. drive for global domination.

3. Desire in the Bush administration, and in the Sharon government of Israel, that conquest of Iraq be first stage of "strategic transformation" of the entire Muslim Middle East.

A good article discussing these:

The purpose of our military operations since 9/11 is to exterminate the offensive actions of global terrorism, so no more American citizens die in attacks like 9/11.

It's a whole different world now than it was on September 10, 2001. It is not the same world now, and it never will be again. The United States and the United Kingdom seem to be the only governments who recognize that. Most people apparently want to adopt a "business as usual like it's always been" attitude and figure that maybe if they stick their heads in the sand and ignore the growing threat of global terrorism, then maybe it'll go away.

The current conflict in Iraq is simply one more campaign in the drive to destroy global terrorism where it presents a threat to America or American interests. We make no distinction between terrorists and those who harbor, aid, or abet them. Saddam Hussein has proved beyond the shadow of a doubt that he supports terrorism against America, either overtly or covertly, and so he's next on the list after the Taliban and right next to Al-Quaida.

That's what it's all about. I realize much of the rest of the world doesn't like it. That's too bad, isn't it?

The protests of the rest of the planet are not worth one more drop of American blood being spilled by a terrorist fanatic.

Just my 2 cents.

As to your list:

1. Ah, we have a place called Alaska we haven't even really tapped into yet. And others.

2. Hardly. If that was the case we'd have already done it via a few mushroom clouds. The UN concept of "useless eaters" is a UN one, not an American one. There are some corporations that are striving for global domination but they "have no flag", i.e. they are loyal only to a P & L sheet.
Look up this phrase :
maquilladora

3. Not a bad idea at all. Christianity and Judaism are not the religions that convert "by the sword."

1. The first step in establishing American/Israeli dominance in the region.

2. Insuring that our access to Middle-Eastern oil is not threatened.

3. Rooting out the #1 threat (Funamentalist Islamic Terrorism) to Western society.

I wonder if everyone who points out all the natural oil reserves in this country has forgeten that oil has to reach a certain price before accessing that oil is economicly feasable. I suspect that while there would be no shortage of gasoline when it's selling for $4.00 a gallon.

I was going to try to write a reply like your post, but I can't match your content and eloquence. I agree 1000% with your message. I have a son in the Gulf, and he is very proud of what he's doing for his country. He and his mates believe they fight for their children and their children's children. I agree with him.

It seems that some folks just don't get it. Do we wish to live like the people in Israel? We take the battle to the terrorists so they can't bring the battle to our soil, women, and children. I really enjoyed your post.

All of the above in some amount. There is no one reason for the action. It has alot to do with oil. If Iraq had no resources that we wanted/needed we would not be there. There are and have been many ruthless dictators that we have shown no interest in invading and overthrowing. Heck there are even a few that we have supported both overtly and covertly.

I think that if you want to combat global terrorism this is not the way to do it. 1000's of more terroist are being made in the Middle East b/c of our action in Iraq. This war will cause far more problems than it will fix.

War is a dynamic living thing, like a wildfire it can spread from one area into the next laying everything in it's path to waste. The war in Iraq is a controled burn in a fireworks factory, we need to finish the job as quickly as possible and get out of there before the whole region blows up around us. And yet, we have indications that if the war in Iraq goes well we may move into Syria and Iran as part of a broad plan to reshape the entire region. While our troops deserve all the suport they can get, we need to condemn this sort of adventurism.

come on guys give it a rest. the war is on. lets finish it get rid of SH and stablize the area --that may be impossible

You are right! The time for debate and protests are over. It's time to support our troops. American boots are on the ground, and I feel quite sure they get to hear some of this garbage while they are risking their lives.

Scary reading...

Your claims for the main reasons for this war, are not supported by this poll, or any other American poll. Claims, accustations, conspiracy theories, and a host of other protests and diversions, can be supported from any number of 'reports'. It just depends one what source you choose to implement. :)

Now, unless you have an elitist attitude - you will have to give some merrit to what most people polled, who have weighed all the evidence from various sources - have to say. :)

Did anyone even read the articles i linked to? It does not seem so, or you all simply misunderstood what they say. Read them again and then give specific explanations to the contrary.

1. Oil U.S. desire for greater control over Iraqi oil resources.

This does not have to do with the need for oil in the Us but the need to be able to control oil production and selling in the middle east wich enables the US to exercise a great deal of control over the worlds economics.

2. U.S. drive for global domination.

In order to ensure global domination the Us wants to discredit organsiations such as the UN and Nato and establish a "America is right whatever we choose to do..." policy. Iraq is the perfect guinea pig for this.

Iraq is also a central country in the Persian Gulf arena wich allows the US to militarily and politically dominate the area and intimidate other oil producing countries in the arab world, Iraq is the key to control.

All outlined in the New American Centurys plans wich were drafted by several of the Bush administrations high ranking officials (Cheney, Rumsfeld...). Read it first before you dismiss it.

3. Desire in the Bush administration, and in the Sharon government of Israel, that conquest of Iraq be first stage of "strategic transformation" of the entire Muslim Middle East.

Also outlined in some of the plans of the New American Century...

Ok, here are my thoughts on this war.

"It's about oil"

I don't think so. It's easy to see that the U.S. would benefit from having open access and control of Iraq's oil supplies, but what many protestors fail to realize is that this would be very hard to do without offsetting the global economy. We would not only be starting a war with all of the middle eastern countries, but with other countries all over the world who depend on middle eastern oil.

"Its for global domination"

Ok, if we were trying to discredit the U.N. and other organizations by fighting this war, why did we spend months, and even years working with the U.N. proposing resolutions to try and work this out with global support. If discrediting the U.N. was a main goal, we would have just gone into Iraq without asking in he first place and said, hey, look at us, we didn't even have to ask. Now, if in the process of working with the U.N. they were discredited, that is no one's fault but their own. The U.N. Security Council voted in resolutions promising action, and then backed out on it. Ask any parent if kids listen when you make promises that you can't keep, you're trust and effectiveness would be discredited, just as the U.N.'s was. We can only bend over backwards for so long, and when it comes down to it, we don't have to ask permission when it comes to our security.

I have heard about possible indications that Syria or Iran may be next, but all I've seen so far are speculations by media sources, which may have been drawn by the verbal warnings that Syria and Iran have gotten regarding supporting Iraq during this war. These speculations are just that, speculations, based on nothing more than a comment saying "Don't support Iraq" If the president or someone else from CentCom has given indication of who we are supposedly attacking next, I'd like to hear about it, but so far I haven't heard anything of the sort.

We have troops over there now, they are not raising the American flag above Iraqi buildings (as they would do if their goal was to take over the country). They are eliminating the government so that the Iraqi people can have a chance at a better life. Hopefully, with a new government over there we will not have to worry about the government supporting the terrorists who are already out to get us.

Support our troops, they are braver than most of us could ever be!
