  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

It amazes me how so many people are so ignorant of what the bible teaches. It amazes me even more of how many so called professing christians there are that don't believe in the bible but yet, they believe in God and Jesus. Is there some other book that you read that told you about them?

None. No babies in hell. Read what king David said about his baby that dies as an infant. What about you?

I'm sorry, I was answering the OP's Question as written.

Question: Do you believe that we are all sinners, doomed to hell unless we repent of our sins and receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior?

For those of you in here that don't believe in a hell because Jesus is about love need to read your bible. Jesus is God and from Hebrews 13:8 we know Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever which means the God of the NT is the same God of the OD.

To understand how much God loves us we can't just say He's love and because of that He won't send anyone to hell. God is a holy God that demands us to be holy and if we're not holy He can't accept us into His kingdom.

God gave us the ten commandments to show us what we had to do to live a holy life, but what it did was to show us how sinful and wicked we are and how we all deserve to go to hell. We desperately need a savior since we can't get to heaven on our own.

God loved us so much He sent His only begotten Son Jesus Christ so we through Him could be saved if we believe in Him as our Lord and Savior.

That is love and that love is bigger than what we can ever grasp.
If you reject Jesus Christ you will end up in hell and don't blame God for it since He has done everything that is required for you to get to heaven.

Jesus is God's word? No wonder you are so confused about hell. If you do not believe the bible is God's word, then why believe any of it? .
No, Jesus is the Word of God. Read John. The Bible is a compilation of literature written by falliable humans based on their understanding of the world, that supposedly claims some words spoken by God. God did not dictate the Bible, and you are exalting a book of paper to the status of Godhood.

Jesus was referring to everlasting torment, hence weeping and gnashing.
No he wasn't. As to your quotes, Revelation is a highly suspect book. For one, there is an older Jewish version of Revelation that makes far more sense. Revelation was John's metaphoric description of the Roman Empire during Christian and Jewish persecution. The 4 horseman refer to 4 sectors of the Roman Empire. The number of the beast (666 under common belief, but in fact is 616 in the dead sea scrolls) in Hebrew numerology spells Nero - as in the Emperor persecuted and executed the new Christians.

The Catholic Church took over 400 years to ultimately decide to canonize Revelation, because they didn't think it was authentic. Revelation does not belong in the Bible.

Rev. 14:11
: "And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever; and they have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name."
The smoke persists forever. Not their conscious torture.

Rev. 20:10-15

10-And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
The devil is the target here, not humanity.

14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire
. This is the second death.
In other words, death and hell were destroyed and purified by Fire. Hell is not eternal.

And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
The Lake of Fire is a metaphor for eternal destruction - as in ceasing to exist.

What various people think about this subject means absolutely nothing. The only thing that matters is what the Bible bluntly and clearly teaches. Look for yourself in your Bible and don't ask someone to spoon-feed you. You should have a topical index in your Bible. Look under "Hell" and read it for yourself. Don't rely on what you think - find out what the Bible clearly teaches.
The Bible also teaches that the Earth is geocentric, flat, and that there was a global flood during the height of the Egyptian Empire (in which the Egyptians didn't notice). The Bible isn't clear on much. If it were, there wouldn't be 35,000 denominations of Christianity who can't agree on what it teaches.

*PGP wonders how many babies will be in Hell according to the OP, after all they can't repent of their sins and receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Babies will be tortured for all eternity too. Sorry, read your Bible - it's quite clear.

Then they are on their own, as they so chose to be. God says to such 'so be it'.

God never says all scripture is God-breathed. And if you take that literally, it also means that Enoch, Apocrypha, Macabees, and the Gospel of Thomas are all God breathed, and yet I don't see any protestants including them in their Bibles.

It's ironic that so many conservatives on this thread are chastising the Catholic Church, claiming it's the biggest deception ever created by Satan, and yet, who do you think gave you your current Bible?!

What source do you have for God never saying all scripture is not God-breathed?

Is death not everlasting punishment?

Not in the context of this chapter. Verse 41 tells us what everlasting punishment entails.

41 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:

The apocrypha and gnostic books that you listed are not scripture, hence, they are not God breathed. The bible makes the claim in 2 Tim. 3.

God. It is His special revelation not a denomination's word.

The Old Testament is speaking about hell.
Deuteronomy 32:22
For a fire has been kindled in My anger, and it burns to the lowest Sheol, and consumes the earth and its produce; and sets on fire the foundations of the mountains.
