There is certainly alot of blame to go around, but not all slaves where sold...many where just snatched away and many of those died in route.
Nebuchadnezzar did not enslave groups of people? Were the Jewish people just in Babylon for an extended vacation?
Seems to me you need to come from the far right and stop watching Lou Dobbs and Fox news. There is certainly racial tones through out Obama's presidency and the majority is coming from the right from many of those in the Tea Party. And female rights? Please....tell me your are not in agreement with Ryan on female rights when it comes to abortions.
Adventtruth:
I do agree with some of your comments. I do feel it is wrong to abort but not in the case of rape or incest. The Bible backs this up as well. David being King did the following:
And David sent and enquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite? And David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in unto him, and he lay with her; for she was purified from her uncleanness: and she returned unto her house. 2Sa 11:3, 4
I assume you all know the rest of the story. The baby died by the hand of ELOHIM because it was rape and murder by David.
I do believe in condomn because it will protect those who are not ready to obey ELOHIM and not to bring innocent children in this cruel world of sin. But, I feel it also help from sexual diseases as well.
As for slavery I would like all to listen to the information about Rommney and the Tea Party Republicans:
Did anyone watch what the Theologian that was on the Ed Show a few months back stated. He provided information about Mormonism beliefs even though they allow blacks into the priesthood. Romney feels that blacks are inferior to white people and that is the main problem. You wonder why there are underlying remarks also the continual perpetuation about the President's birth certificate that Romney refuses to speak out against. The fact is very simple the Tea Party chose this man who they once felt his religion was an occult! Have you notice that the Evangelical ministers who once spoke out against his faith have been hushed! It is because of that certain part of his faith they agree and that is racism. The question is not about them allowing blacks into the priesthood. Although they have made many changes especially the new generation, Romney comes from the old school. He believes that Cain's mark had to do with him turning black. They do not believe that the black people are equal spiritual as whites. Here is an example of Romney's beliefs:
Many LDS church documents and church leaders asserted that dark skin was an indication of sin or a curse. Shadow or Reality? Gerald and Sandra Tanner p. 262-266
A black skin is a mark of the curse of heaven.... We understand that when God made man in his own image and pronounced him very good, that he made him white."Juvenile Instructor, vol. 3, page 157
If they believe that were created white than a black man is not in title to the highest office of America. The reason is that LDS is the new Israel and America is the new Jerusalem and Romney is their long belief that a LDS would to hold this office by his church. Read it they do not hid this belief because they believe that a Mormon will change United States it is the Melchizedeck calling!
Many Christians have interpreted that the mark is a part of the curse. In the 18th century, in the United States as well as Europe, the teaching was birthed that Cains mark was a black skin, and that Cains descendants were black and still under the curse of Cain. Even though the majority of Cains descendants were destroyed in the flood, Latter-day Saints, or Mormons, beginning in the early to mid 1800s, believed that Cains bloodline was preserved on the ark through the wife of Noahs son, Ham, whose name was Egyptus. Interestingly, though this was an almost universally held view amongst the LDS faithful, and widely taught still today, it has never been canonized as doctrine.
With this being so widely taught and accepted, some naturally have seen themselves as better than those with skin colors darker than theirs. Many even share this thought privately, never connecting the thought with the true definition of racism. However, these racial and ethnic interpretations of the curse and mark have been, for the most part, abandoned by most conservative theologians since the mid-20th century, although they still have some following among the older generation of Caucasians, as well as a very small number of Protestant churches. Blacks In The Scriptures by Scott Gordon, Margaret Young, Richard Miller, Marvin Perkins, Chris Kite, Dana King, Darius Gray, and Renee Olson. (Black LDS)
My point here was that Mormons have always struggled internally with how to handle blacks.
. . . Mormonisms relationship to race follows patterns that are typical to many American Protestant movements and denominations (I reminded our students that Mormons, like all American churches, were forced to take sides during the 1840s over the question of slavery. As such the references to the Curse of Ham were certainly not unique to Mormons).
. . . Ive forever linked Mormonism with race, or worse yet racism in our students minds. I was very conscious of the potential for this (as well as very aware that as in almost all of the courses we teach, there are a few LDS members to whom we have the responsibility to not add material for anti-Mormon ridicule). I hope I showed that Mormonism is both similar to and different than all other American religious traditions and should be studied as such. Lecturing about Race and Mormonism at Harvard College By: Max - March 18, 2010
But being a Latter-day Saint is at the center of who he really is, if you scrape everything else off, said Randy Sorensen, who worshiped with Mr. Romney in church.
. . . I refuse to believe that America is just another place on the map with a flag, he said in announcing his bid for the presidency last June. Every presidential candidate highlights patriotism, but Mr. Romneys is backed by the Mormon belief that the United States was chosen by God to play a special role in history, its Constitution divinely inspired. ."Romneys Faith, Silent but Deep," By JODI KANTOR; Published: May 19, 2012
Romney has been accepted by the GOP because the new Tea Party Movement is racist in their hearts. Many are proving so even though they were once against the belief about Mormonism. They rather have a Mormon in the White House than a Black man. This whole election today is about color and religion. However there are a few who stand up and speak the truth in the Evangelical world. They are silent and hidden but they are there. It is time to truly question Romney about his belief because he does not believe in separation of church and state. Why is Romney refusing to speak out about his religion? Questions in the media and the public needs to ask about his religion and you will find that it is related to the secrecy of his taxes. Ask him and see if he will give an answer. Listen to Pastor Keller who got it right, wake up and realize what is coming:
Keller stated, "Romney and members of his 'church' believe and teach that African-Americans are cursed and it has only been in the last few decades that they allowed African-Americans to join their 'church.' Just like polygamy, they have had to set aside their true beliefs on race to become mainstream, but that doesn't mean they no longer believe what their 'church' teaches on these issues.
