No matter where you look, POLARIZATION is taking place.

The WORLD is being POLARIZED to stand under TWO BANNERS ~ COMMUNISM & FREEDOM.

AMERICA is being POLARIZED to stand under TWO BANNERS ~ The LEFT & the RIGHT.

CHURCHES are being POLARIZED to stand under TWO BANNERS ~ SIN & RIGHTEOUSNESS

FAMILIES are being POLARIZED to stand under TWO BANNERS ~ HATE & LOVE.

FEWER & FEWER are on THE FENCE.....EVERYONE is taking SIDES....

WHICH SIDE ARE YOU ON? "As for me and my house....we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15.

And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

I concern myself with the things the Lord tells me to focus on. Fulfilling my assignment is foremost. I don’t worry about the rest. He has it in hand.

Try to get to know people who disagree with you. Try to have respectful conversations with them. If you can't discuss the hot button issues, talk about pets, kids, hobbies, grandchildren, favorite books or movies. Learn to know them as people and you will stop looking at them as stereotypes.

I am pretty progressive (not as much as my children) but I have real world friends on all ends of the political spectrum, different faiths, different races, different ages, different socioeconomic backgrounds. We talk about what we have in common more than what we don't. I may hate their politics but still appreciate other things about them.

Yes ... we need to try to stay in our God assigned lanes. Otherwise, things can become quite overwhelming ...

I think we're all the same as far as flesh goes. The words we use to express sentiments carry more than one meaning according to our psycholinguistics and these can be used to sow division or unity.

Look at the cherubim on the ark of the covenant. Look at the lampstand and the two olive trees. Look at male/female. I believe the devil works the ends against the middle and the Spirit of Christ works the ends towards the middle. The devil is full of cynicism, and the Christ is full of grace.

Yes, I do that everyday....try to find the common ground that I have with people....I don't look at people as stereotypes but only a blind person could not see that the world is POLARIZING. It doesn't make one less Christian to see and admit the TRUTH.

But is trying to understand both sides a bad thing?

I sure don't think so :). The more we understand the other side, the better chance we have of helping them to see our side, right?

I don't believe there are any sides. God is light and there are many paths, in countless directions away from that light, and into darkness. But there is only one way back into the Light from the many paths. There are many lies that subvert the single Truth.

Christ the shepherd gathers, and the enemy scatters.

And that's why we have to keep trying. Only we can end polarization, one person to one person at a time.
Sometimes change will never take place, and if you know your friend or family mUember will never change, just celebrate the things you enjoy about your relationship.
I am going to share my meeting of the minds. I was sitting at a church potluck with a very nice man who has very different political opinions from me. He began by saying, "I know you're a good person, and I know you want to help others, but we need to stop immigrants coming from Mexico.
And then he told his story. He and his wife sent their daughter to college in Dallas 20 years ago. She disappeared after a month in school and was never found. For many years they endured heartbreak, agony, and uncertainty. One day they got a call about a grave they found with the bodies of several young women. The police asked them to send a sibling's DNA to see if any of them might be their daughter. They finally learned the truth and put her body to rest. The police couldn't identify the killer/rapist--only that he was of Hispanic descent. There were traces of DNA, but nothing matched their databases. "And now you know why I am against immigration," he said.
By then of course, I was in tears, thinking of his and his wife's anguish. I just hugged him and said I understood.
I still feel the same way about immigration, but I know now that I may never know the wounds and scars people might be suffering that make them feel the way they do.

Because we used to have fewer news sources and those services attempted to tell more than one side of a story. Now anybody with a phone can upload a story and the biased news can be sent directly to people who are seeking that type of news, and only them.

The same goes for anyone's interest in anything. Biased information can be your friend and you can interact with it.

What a sad story, that's one reason I believe like I do about immigration....but I still have friends who are on the other side of the fence, too.

The WORLD is being POLARIZED to stand under TWO BANNERS ~ COMMUNISM & FREEDOM.

I would opine, that most people don't really know what freedom really is-myself included.
I think of those who have protested in Canada, whose live are probably ruined, and of those who just went to a rally - no destroying of property, violence, etc. who lost their jobs, livelihood, for being associated with their choice for President (look up reporter Julie Kelly for stories ). And now, The Ukraine, (77% Christian) where some will lose their lives, possessions, etc.
Kris Kristofferson once wrote in a song: "Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose", and I've often heard that you cannot say "Christ is all I need" until Christ is all you have.
Maybe we have already crossed the Rubicon in the world, where we really aren't as 'free' as we think we are. With technology, if you run afoul of certain people, parties; a couple mouse clicks, keystrokes, and you are wiped out, finished.
Are we really,"free"?

Amen! Politically, socially, mentally, physically and spiritually through Him. In all things, Christ Jesus. Not I or us but Christ.
