What do you guys think of this letter? I'll need to send them out in the near future.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear friends,

I am writing to you to let you know that Lost And Found will be in concert in Lake Charles, LA on Sunday, January 9, 2005 at 7pm. The concert will be held at LaGrange Auditorium, which is located behind LaGrange high school at 3420 Louisiana Ave.

You may or may not have heard of the band Lost And Found. If you've already heard of them, you know the great message they promote. If you haven't heard of them, you're in for a real treat if you attend this concert. Lost And Found promotes the message of the Gospel. They tell of what unites all Christians of all denominations, that "God spoke a Word of love whose name is Jesus."

The genre of music they play is called "Speedwood." It is hard to describe, but is basically two guys playing their acoustic instruments as loud and fast as they can with the occassional ballad. Do not, worry, however, for speedwood is nothing like rock music or heavy metal. The music and the words are family-friendly and all ages are welcome at the concert.

Tickets are on sale now and are only $5 if you buy them ahead of the concert. If you choose to buy them the day of the concert, they are only $7 at the door. The concert will last for about two hours, so plan for a fun two hours with a fun band whose goal is spreading the Gospel message to all.

I've seen Lost And Found in concert plenty of times and each time is always unique, but the message of the gospel is always told. It's an experience you will never forget.

I ask that you prayerfully consider coming to the concert and if you have any church groups, to consider making this concert your weekly or monthly event.

If you live in the Lake Charles area, we ask that you pick up your tickets from one of the places selling them or send an SASE along with your payment. If you live outside of the Lake Charles area, we ask that you send an SASE with your payment or request us to hold your tickets for you and they will be given to you at the doors to the concert.

If you are sending your payment, please send it to the following address:
St. Paul Lutheran Church
1620 E. Prien Lake Rd.
Lake Charles, LA 70601

You can call (337) 477-2023 and leave a message asking for more information or you can simply visit http://evangelism.at/stpaul and click on the link "Lost And Found Concert Information."

The concert's location is as follows:
Sunday, January 9, 2005, 7pm
LaGrange Auditorium
3420 Louisiana Ave.
Lake Charles, LA 70607

If you would like to find out more about the band, you can visit their official website at http://www.speedwood.com

I hope to see you at the concert!

God bless, your sister in Christ,
Bridget Delaney

I agree Phoebe, but we need a manager. Someone to dole out assignments and follow up on commitments from the ones who haven't finished yet.

Lotar was doing that but he seems to be otherwise occupied these days. What about you, Dan, Scott or Bradford? (While I spend more time here than I should I would prefer not to take this responsibility because outside of work I am pretty much irresponsible. Work takes it all!)

Anyway...maybe y'all could think about it and someone might volunteer to take the task.

Peace

Rose

Looks absolutely great to me. Our DCE is planning to work with some of the Atlanta area churches and bring Lost and Found to our neck of the woods. It should be great fun.

 Rose
Thanks. I think I need to add "especially youth groups" in the part about groups .. you should have great fun if you bring them there! I've never been even slightly disappointed with one of their concerts. It's always awesome, always different, always fun, and always shares the central message of the gospel.

Pointless Church History Stuff (interesting stuff, at least for me!):

9/22/1530

Philipp Melanchthon's Apology [Defense] of the Augsburg Confession was read to the Estates and rejected by Charles V, who gave the Lutherans until 15 April 1531 to submit to the papists or "lose life, goods and honor."

9/231536

Pope Paul III (b. 29 February 1468; elected 12 October 1534; d. 10 November 1549) called a church council to be held at Mantua for the purpose of "the utter extirpation of the poisonous, pestilential Lutheran heresy." The council was never held. [the council was ultimately held at Trent]

9/23/1742

Heinrich Melchior Muhlenberg (1711-1787) arrived in America at Charleston, South Carolina. [the father of Lutheranism in America]

Notice that 4 of the 10 richest people in the US are college dropouts. I was a college dropout, then I eventually went back and finished. I wonder if I would be more successful if I didn't finish.
Very interesting. I dropped out of Nazarene Bible College. Why aren't I rich yet?

Oh, yeh, I got an Associate of Liberal Arts, specializing in Business and Accounting. Maybe I should have been a rock star. I'm a little old for that now. Think I'll try writing the next great RPG.

Mick Jagger is in his 60s, and I think Steven Tyler is getting close to that. You're just a young'in compared to them. :D

The more I hang out here, the more I realize why I'm so comfortable with my church - which is a good thing. . .I know what I like about certain churches and what I don't like about others. . .
