Mick Jagger is in his 60s, and I think Steven Tyler is getting close to that. You're just a young'in compared to them. :D
Love that Steven Tyler! But when's the last time you heard of someone STARTING a rock and roll music carreer after 50? I have a friend who played with the Sateruday Night Live band as a fill in one time. He and his band had a good thing going until their manager ran off with the bank roll. I think I'll stick to my volunteer work. Maybe work on that game program.

Theo...this thread is reserved for pointless posts. Cold beer in a Concordia Seminary-Saint Louis koozie is hardly a pointless post!!! But thanks for the reminder. I've got a cold Corona in the fridge with my name on it! :yum:

I've never developed a liking for alcohol myself . . . it smells funny and tastes even worse. But no one in my entire family drinks either (they're all strict Southern Baptist) so I think I come by my dislike of alcohol naturally.
I don't really drink, either. The only stuff I like has to taste like soda, so why not just drink soda?

However, people in my family do drink. . .

Time for a nap. We have a church picnic later this afternoon. Must rest up so I can eat.
Lucky you. We had a congregational meeting and as usual, people yelled about the use of money. They always make me so stressed.

Didn't really get the nap. The Broncos played early.

The farewell picnic was a big success. Three ladies put together a scrap book with a lot of pictures from our interim pastor's time with us. They are a very sweet older couple. They found each other later in life, after their first spouses died. Their genuine affection for each other is touching and a good example.

I have to do the minutes from the last church council meeting now. Then the minutes from the last congregational meeting are over do. Past secretaries have only done the motions and votes. But that left us beating around the same bushes over and over again. And, no one could remember what all we discussed in the previous session. So, I started adding a synopsis of the discussions as well. That way we have a record of what was taken into consideration when then the decission was made. I also include a list of who was present at the congregational meetings. When people are reminded that they actually were there, they are less likely to make a big fuss about not knowing was going on.

Did anyone watch the debate? I came up with a way to enjoy it by making up a college drinking game.

1 drink every time Kerry says "I believe..."

1 drink every time Bush mentions the President of Poland

2 drinks every time either gets Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden mixed up.

If you are actually drinking beer, you would get a quite nice buzz at the end. Good thing I was drinking soda.

LOL!!! No, I didn't watch them--but if I had known about this game I might have considered it. ;) My husband came into the kitchen (where I have my computer) with this dazed look muttering something about how one of them was an idiot and how he couldn't take it anymore.

I already know who I am going to vote for and no debate will change my mind. I have had some wonderful debate with my college-aged son--who, of course, prefers the other candidate. He makes some good points but I always tell him that it doesn't matter what he says, he and his kind don't vote so they won't have an impact and that's why my guy will win!

Haha that's funny! ^_^

My bro-in-law is the same way. He will complain and whine, but never register. He is a self proclaimed anarchist and he hates the government. I fine that hilarious because he turns around and complains that his free money, come income tax time, is only $3,000 instead of $3,500 or whatever it was the previous year. Food stamps, WIC, and welfare have gotten his family through hard times too. Oh and no, he doesn't have to pay into the system, he almost never earns enough.

By the way, my beef isn't with the help he recieves, it is his attitude about it. Talk about biting the hand that literaly feeds you.

Who got me started on this early morning rant??? :D
