Yes ma'am! I am looking for your book report to determine whether I should take the time to read it!Flipper said:Hey Rose - weren't you wanting my take on The DaVinci Code when I finished the book? I don't remember if it was you or another. I'm finished if you want it.
Excellent news! This was the assurance I was looking for. A friend of mine wanted to read it but her pastor recommended against it. However, my friend almost bit off on a cult a couple of years ago and her pastor was aware of this so I imagine that played a role in his recommendation to her.Flipper said:I was a little surprised that I could form arguments against the stuff in my head, as I was reading it - I guess I have more knowledge and faith than I give myself credit for. ...
I don't think the book tests your faith, assuming your faith is strong (I say that reluctantly because I'm a huge advocate of seeing Fiction as that - Fiction, meaning not true). It will make you think about your faith, though. ...
Still, I was able to easily separate the Truth and what the book was saying, and see it for the exciting mystery thriller that it is. There are quite a few twists, and I had wrongly guessed who the bad guy was, which made it even more exciting to me.

This statement kinda sparked my curiosity. What exactly do you mean?

I haven't read Digital Fortress- I have read Deception Point, though- and it proves the author can write a good story without involving Religion, the Illuminati, the Vatican, etc..Flipper said:I'm glad you will, I really enjoyed reading it.

PhoebeHe sounds like me. I reread books over and over. The only ones I could part with were the Left Behind books.Flipper said:We have Deception Point at home too. I'm with you, I'd rather a paperback. However, he has a book fetish and will re-read a book over and over, which is why he insists on getting all books in hardcover if at all possible. Some men collect baseball cards, he collects books. It's so bad he's building floor to ceiling bookshelves in our family room.![]()
I love to read, but it comes and goes in phases. He has to have a book with him at all times, no matter where he is.
I'm not complaining - he could have worse habits. He's MY Geek.![]()
