  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Pointless posts.

Not worth it, they are just mad we have a "Super Awesome Lutheran Quiz"!

Easy enough 80 blessings, though... Just remember, the third answer is the right one, and two of them have no valid answers selected...

GO FOR IT!

I don't know if I can restrain myself. I'd probably ask stuff like:

Did the Roman Catholic Church anathemetize the Gospel at the Council of Trent?

What did the Roman Catholic bishop at Augsburg say after hearing the presentation of Augsburg Confession in 1530?

“What has been read to us is the truth, the pure truth, and we cannot deny it.”

etc...

Last week, while visiting the OBOB thread, I used the words Roman Catholic Church, to denote the people who follow the teachings of Rome. Almost all of them flipped out, claiming that I was insulting with the word "Roman," and insisting on having sole ownership of the word "catholic". They threw their fits and demanded respect. One of the loudest screamers happens to be the author of the newest "Martin Luther" quiz. Obviously this was an attack on the Lutheran Church....but ya know what is kinda funny? It backfired, because Luther was right! To those that preach a "gospel" other than Christ alone, better for them to be dead than to remain alive and lead men astray. Salvation by works...how vain!
