And by that i mean the good old adventure games such as Monkey Island, Sam and Max, Day of The Tentacle and Full Throttle.

What happened to these types of games, they were there, then...they just dissappeared. Anyone one else miss them? or is it just me. Sense of humour was also fantastic in most of the games (' you fight like a dairy farmer' 'how appropriate, you fight like a cow', ok maybe not the best example, but when you have to use phrases such as these to win a sword fight i think it adds that bit of extra oomph to a game) and many of them had extremely original storylines.

Does anyone know if there are going to be anymore released, or is that it? i got grim fandango but thats years old now. Don't mind RPG's like FF an Fable but i like something, a bit less serious. If anyone knows of anysuch games for the 360 or PC it would be very much appreciated thanks.

Isn't "The Longest Journey" sequel "Dreamfall" out now?

Anyone one else miss them?
I sorta do. Ilike the humor and/or stories and they often have neat settings/worlds, but hate a lot of the puzzles.

But yeah, Adventure games are pretty much dead.

ANd if you want a good less serious RPG try Fallout 2, although I personally think it went over-board on the humor (It ruins the atmosphere)

And "Jagged Alliance 2" if you count a squad-based strategy game where you hire mercs to take over a country and the guys have stats you can improve and often hilarious personalities as an "RPG".

I recall playing lots of the original King's Quest on the Tandy 1000. Yeah, I miss those kind of games as well.

I don't know if it'd pay to make one of those nowadays. With all the walkthoughs for games available on the internet, a person could easily rent it and play through it in a weekend.

I really miss point and click games. I grew up on the King's Quest and Space Quest games so it's sad watching the genre die. KQ4, KQ6, and SQ4 are among my favorite games.

The only new games coming out that I know of are the Sam & Max episodes and Hotel Dusk, which is a Nintendo DS noir adventure game that comes out next week.
