Hi,

My name is Kelsey and I'm a complete newbie, both to this forum and also to the Christian faith - I've always kind of believed, but it's only been this year after the birth of my daughter that My husband and I have been attending church and reading the Bible. And we are all loving it!

Here's hoping I don't make too many mistakes, being a newbie and all.

Hello!  :)

I know that for all of you, coming into New Member Introductions, you're so excited to let all of the current members know a bit about you.  And that is wonderful.

But please, before posting anything, take time to review our rules.  The link is located at the bottom of every page and can also be found here:

www.christianforums.com/rules.html

Also make note that you are not allowed to post a link to any webpage (be it a personal site, your church's site, another messageboard you frequent, etc.) here.  When you reach 15 posts, you may post those sorts of sites in our Favorite Web Links forum.  :)

If you have any questions, do not hesistate to ask.

And welcome to Christian Forums!!
Ah - good point - I nearly introduced myself with a link to my main site, in case of interest.

I think, though, that I would be better waiting until I have earned the right to link, have a sig, and display a personal avatar before introduing myself. Somehow an introduction without a personalised alias would seem a little empty.

I do understand the necessity of such rules, though - I'll be back on this board when I'm properly all dressed up. :)

Shalom everyone! I am a Messianic Jew who believes in Yeshua (Jesus) as her personal savior. I love to do worship dance, especially Davidic dances. At times I will even do a combination prayer and dance. I am interested in Jewish things but NOT kaballah. I like all sorts of music from classical to metal to celtic to folk music. I am always on the lookout for more Christian medal. I like Deliverance, and bands that are heavy but can sing and do not scream. I also like industrial music and Russian music. Love to read philosophy, write children's books, and play the piano and violin. (Beginner violin and compose music on the piano I can't even begin to play! LOL)
The smilie face I would chose is "Amused". We do not have that one. The Icon I would chose is the Star of David. We do not have that one either.
Oh well!

Hello, of course, I'm new here at christianforums. Looking forward to participating. I'm a freelance web designer, newly wed (well, it's been more than a year now, but I still feel newly wed) and fulltime stepmom to a couple of terrific kids in the small college town of Norman, OK.

Question: During the past 2 years I have read each of the books by John Eldridge at Ransomed Heart Ministries. The message contained in these books is both biblically-based and also a very fresh and different (for me) way of looking at relationship with God. These books have changed my life profoundly. I've registered today especially because I'd love to begin seriously discussing them with others. Any suggestions on where to start would be appreciated.

Thx, EE

Hello fellow newbies and everyone! I love the variety this board seems to offer, and am anxious to search about to see what's all available! Great idea, whoever started it (hope to find that out too, thanks to whomever!)

I'm a longtime believer who's strayed a bit as of late. It will be nice to try and find some encouragement to stay on the right pathway . .

Hey Worddancer....

I am new to ALL forums actually. I don't really have a clue as to how all of this works. My husband is a pro and is also on this forum.

Anyway, I was just poking around to figure things out and saw your statement...."I'm a longtime believer who's strayed a bit as of late. It will be nice to try and find some encouragement to stay on the right pathway . ." and decided to try a response.

I too strayed away! Actually for many years. It is really easy to do, isn't it? God drew me back to Him in October of 1995 in an unmistakable way. From that point on He has brought me through more than I could have ever imagined. Lately, I have found myself in that boat you're in too. In figuring out some way to encourage you....a million things are running through my mind but the one that really sticks out is this..... "what if I had to go through all of this stuff without Him?" Then I think back to the time when I was far away and I remember that even though it appeared to be an easier way of living....it really wasn't. It was lonely, full of despair & disappointment but most of all GUILT & CONVICTION because the Holy Spirit does NOT leave you alone. Odd isn't it?.....when we stray.....He comes after us. But when we are close?.....it seems as though He puts us through more fire than anything else. But He is there to carry us through.

I find myself alot lately getting angry with God because I don't see Him "fixing" things. Do you think you might be angry with Him too?

Hope I'm doing the right thing here. I'm a newby, just registered today. This is also my first time on a forum such as this so I may be somewhat inept. I don't even know if this post is in the right box. But I WILL catch on given time.

I'm posting from 'down under' (Australia to you) and have a feeling that this forum operates from stateside. I came here (Australia) 23 years ago from Kansas (Chanute) so I could have picked up a little 'Aussie' by now. My friends here assure me that this is NOT the case, however. I became a Christian in 1988 and have been involved on a regular basis since then with my particular church. I'm very much into music and, besides playing the guitar and singing, I 'sequence' Christian music to CDs for churches that have no music or for people who just want to listen to Christian music. I and others also 'perform' this form of traditional and contemporary music every week in church.

I'm unsure of the procedure from here on in so I'll just post this and hope it goes to the correct board. God bless you all and my best wishes for 2004!

Oh my . . . I never dreamed anyone would actually respond to me . . thanks Countrychic, and hello to you! I think you display great wisdom in your comments, and much truth. As to being angry with God, I'd not really thought of that. I'm more angry with myself, I think, and my lack of diligence. You're right about the Holy Spirit, He doesn't leave us alone, and though it's annoying at times, I'm soooo grateful He doesn't . . (I suppose I should not comment further and find some way or someplace else to talk to you a bit more directly, sorry if this is frowned upon)

Hello Sequencerman! If I remember correctly, the forum was started by an "Aussie" and most of the Administrators are as well, but as with many forums, the Americans soon manage to come flooding in . . *smiles* Seems a great place ~ enjoy!
