  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

This is NOT a debate board mind you! I posted some info that I felt was horrible and sad and somebody had to come along and make light and discredit of what I had said, which, in my opinion, is NOT cool! I guess some people just have to try and prove that they are "better and smarter" than the rest of us!

You are taking her posts way too personally. I think it is important to present all sides of an issue, and not just take the ASPCA's word for it.

I didn't mean to post more information about it to cause a problem. I just don't want people to get all up in arms about things if they don't have to. It's best to look at all sides of the arguement before you come to a conclusin.
To the poster who posted something about how she doesn't think the statement about horses being left in pasture to pasture breed is correct. How do you you know? Sure, your daughter works for a farm that breeds arabians. Newsflash, this isn't the farm that your daughter worked for. That's like saying "oh, my daughter works for a farm that breeds *insert any horse breed* and i know that people don't let horses pasture breed because all they do is A.I." It's a silly generalization to make. Besides, if a mare comes into heat and there's a stallion around that is fertile, he'll breed her. It's what God designed him to do. Pasture breeding is a lot quicker than hand breeding and requires a lot less help, although i'm sure it isn't as safe.

I wasn't saying horses are not pasture bred for the simple reason of my daughter working at an Arabian horse farm, but from her experience in the horse farm industry, and my years of reading,I know this is a very outmoded practice. Same as cows, except in extremely rare instances, are no longer pasture bred either. For one thing artificial insemination is used more and more, and for another the owner prefers to have more control and also it helps cut down on injuries,or any injuries can be attended to immediately when there are people present during the breeding. It is also not a NORMAL practice for mares to run in the same pasture with ANY stallion at ANY TIME!!!!! Certainly not on breeding farms.

Oh ok,had to go back and read what a PMU farm is"pregnant mare's urine".

I had never heard of any of this before,so I did a simple search PMU +ranches and here are the results folks can read the good and bad for themselves

http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=PMU+%2Branches&FORM=MSNH&srch_type=0

Didn't really see anything bad until I came to the PETA[animal activists] site on page 3 of the web results.
