I know I posted on here that I was going to get bariatric surgery because I was 440 pounds at my heaviest and only 5 feet 6 inches tall. I am massively obese but the reason I decided to make another topic about this was 1. The old topic was getting very full and 2. I decided not to get the surgery in December but I want to try to lose 150 pounds or so on my own. I was wondering if people had any advice for me on how to be successful in this because all weight loss surgery would be is just a tool to control my hunger anyway and help me eat a lot less. I've already been eating a lot less than I was before. I dropped almost 10 pounds in a month doing this barely making any changes at all. So I think I can do this on my own without the need to go under the knifenand permanently alter my stomach.

With God's help I can do anything so please pray for me as I make this journey and please as my friends continue to support me as i make this journey. As my doctor said even if I got down to 300 pounds it would make a significant impact on my health so that is my goal for now and then if I can maybe lose more once I achieve that goal that would be great but I don't think I want my weigh less than 250.

Praying for you..

BTW I lost around 70 lbs with diet and exercise
1. Only eat fruit at night
2. Only eat toast for breakfast
3. have a normal lunch -- normal for normal people
4. Add up all the food you eat in a day -- it should equal one normal sized meal.
5. Exercise everyday - walking counts a lot for "exercise"

6. Don't drink sugary beverages, don't eat deserts
7. Eat high fiber food often (ground up nuts, coleslaw, raw vegetables)
8. drink lots of water - many cups a day.

multiply your weight in lbs by 2/3 and drink that many ounces of water per day

Eat only two meals a day and do not snack in between the two meals. Only drink water and do a 20 to 24 hour fast. once a week.

But the main part is to eat real food and not food manufactured to sell in stores like wal-mart. That can sit on a shelf for months. Eat eggs, fish (wild caught salmon grilled), sweet potatoes, food that has a lot of fiber in it.

Eat no bread

May God give you strength through Jesus Christ :praying:

A simple weight loss approach I use is to eat a good breakfast - this will get your metabolism going for the rest of the day

Then eat a lighter lunch and a very light dinner

Myself, I also eat only very low fat foods after about 2:00 p.m.
This has greatly reduced acid reflux for me

And May the peace of the Lord Jesus be always with you ✝

In your desperate situation, you should be strict. Many people in your situation used the carnivore diet - meat, eggs, salt. Thats it. The good thing is you can eat as much as you want - because its hard to overeat real food. Initial "overeating" on this diet is because an obese body can be depleted of nutrients which are found in real food and needs to refill them.

If you need more details, motivation or to hear the success of other people, just search for the carnivore diet on youtube.

When I was going to get the bariatric surgery they were going to stick me on a high protein diet so I'm trying that. So your carnivore diet is very similar to what they were going to put me on. A lot of meat, eggs, nuts, protein shakes, you know lots of protein. So I might actually try that and see if it gets me anywhere and try controlling my portions a little bit and get on an exercise program. I might call the physical therapy place on Monday and ask how much they charge per session without insurance because I know my insurance wouldn't cover it. Because i can't walk past 2 minutes I'm so fat. I need to build up my endurance because I've barely exercised in my almost 40 years on this planet.
