I want to draw close to God, but for some reason I find it difficult to "stay on fire" for God. I have moments when I feel very enthusiastic about God and doing His will but it only lasts a little while. Then I fall back into my "dull" stage... I don't know exactly how to describe it, my enthusiasm just leaves... and it seems that my relationship with Christ becomes more like a religion, I know what to say and do... but for some reason I don't feel close to Him.

Please, if you are reading this, please pray for me to come close to God and serve Him with fervency. Pray for me to experience deep and satisfying fellowship with Him.

Just wanted to let all know that took the time to pray for me:

I have gone through the hardest, most scariest time of my life. I experienced deep spiritual struggles (strong thoughts and feelings have been attacking my soul). At that time I lost almost all hope… but God helped me through all of it and proved His love, zeal, and faithfulness. Though the spiritual struggles are still wearing off, God has drawn closer me to Him that I have been in a long time, maybe the closet I've ever been in my life. He is working miracles in my heart.

God hears all your prayers and they are not in vain. Thank you for praying and please pray for God to help me completely be freed from the thoughts and feelings and for me to draw ever nearer, to be in fellowship with Jesus, and grasp His love.

Sometimes our desire to be 'on fire' for God is what trips us up. God doesn't ask us to live that way. He asks us to tell the truth to others and to live a life that gives glory to Him. God made it very simple for Cain. If you just do what is right in His sight, you will be accounted with the righteous. As a matter of fact, Paul makes the point that we live quite and peaceful lives, but the foundation of that life is strictly and absolutely the truth of God.
