I had a lumbar spinal fusion Friday the 18 and was supposed to be in the hospital a week minumum. I had 4 bone grafts, 2 titanium rods and 8 titanium screw put in to replace 2 completely degenerated disc and 2 that were 70% deteriorated. However I was getting out of bed and into a wheel chair to go outside to smoke so they let me come home today instead. I cannot lay on my back it causes muscle spasms, I can't lay on my stomach because they are afraid it may ripp the incision loose. So that leaves just my sides. Both hips are giving intense pain to lay on them even with the pain pills amd muscle relaxers but I have no place to sleep sitting up. My left hip is the worst and makes it really hard to get out of bed even with help. I know God can ease this pain as he is the great physician. But could there be a reason he is not easing it? Please pray that God will either ease the pain or let me know why he is not. Thank you and God Bless you all!!

Lord, I lift up my brother to your touch on him physically mainly, but also help him spiritually and mentally. May your presence be with him and strengthen him in your mighty grace. God, I bear his burden now and so fulfill your Holy law of Christ. Show him your love, touch him Lord. Give him rest. I am sorry that you or anyone else has to go through such pain and discomfort you will be in my prayers. I do not believe that God is choosing not to ease your pain and just watching you in pain because he is punishing you or that this happened to you for some divine purpose. Because God is the god of love and does not want to see any one in pain and suffering, he loves us all and it pains Him to see us in pain. Let me put it this way if someone you love breaks his/her leg, it is going to pain you to see your loved one in pain. i'll pray for you and God bless

I cannot begin to imagine the pain you are in. You have sought out the very place you know will share compassion for you. This shows me your admirable quality. Instead of blaming God or giving up hope in your suffering, you've looked for answers to edify your faith. I have prayed for you and I will try to answer your question.

All things were originally created flawless. "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good..." (Genesis 1:31) This means that there was no sin, no death, no pain and suffering, etc.. The Lord's creation (the heavens and the earth) were created with perfect love. This means that since God is love, (1 John 4:8) man, woman and angels alike were created within the characteristics of His love. What are the characteristics of love? I would not suggest looking this word up in the dictionary to get your answer but rather let the bible define it for you.

(1 Corinthians 13:4-8): "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails."

There are other characteristics of God. Another especially important one is this:

(2 Corinthians 3:17): "Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom."

God created men, women and angels alike giving them freedom of individual will. This means that love is not forceful but rather gives the opportunity and liberty for all, to either love Him in return, or to reject Him. Where there is no freedom there is no love, because freedom is a characteristic of love. If you were to program a robot to love you, would this really be a sincere and loving relationship? If you used a mind control device on a woman to love you, wouldn't this be self serving of you? God did not create mankind for the reason that we would worship him, rather He created man to share in the pleasures that His giving and "other-centeredness" brings. And since His greatest will is to dedicate Himself and give infinitely to mankind without expecting anything in return, when some of us realize this, we fall to our knees awestruck and willingly give ourselves back to Him in return. We give ourselves to Him completely out of sincere love and not out of duty, obligation or discipline. If you are/were married and you were to tell her or if she were to tell you, "I'm only with you out of duty, obligation, and discipline." Wouldn't this be heart breaking? Yet every single day our loving God hears this reason of obligation from many Christians across the world.

Sorry, I kind of got a little side tracked there, but I am going somewhere with all of this, I promise. So another proof of the Lord's wonderful characteristics are in (Genesis 1:26) God made the entire earth for the sole purpose of giving it away to His beloved man and woman. These two experienced a life that we cannot even fathom. They walked with God in His glory and had dominion over nature itself. It was not God's will that these two betrayed Him. The world was given to them, and they in turn handed over the earth to the serpent.... for a piece of fruit.

Satan's will turned away from God, just as Adam and Eve's will did, and just as every person that rejects Him to this day. Although their separation from God was (and ours still is) influenced, these two (as well as us) had/have the conscience to will. They could either heed God's warning of the consequences of sin, (which would be the complete separation from Him), or they could defy His will for them, (to remain in paradise) and sin. Thereby causing the natural effect of consequences that would result from the separation. Sin (evil), and God cannot merge together, just as pure cannot mix with contamination. The separation from God resulted in the separation from His wonderful characteristics. These characteristics include: Life, "other-centered-ness", contentment, etc... So then the separation from Life is obviously death, the separation from "other-centeredness" is selfishness, the separation of pleasure is pain, the seperation from contentment is longing, the separation from freedom is bondage. Therefore all mankind is born into bondage to the one who was handed over the earth, Satan.

"Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don't believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don't understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God." (2 Corinthians 4:4)

If the world seems to be chaotic, if it seems to be cruel, full of pain or destructive, its because it is. And now you know the reason why. You also now understand the reason Christ came in the flesh. He came to put to an end the separation between Him and His beloved men and women. To GIVE once more, something to us more precious than the earth itself, His life.

Thank you everyone for your Prayers. I am now about 4 weeks out of this surgery and insurance has refused to pay for my pain meds or muscle relaxers until the 21st because the dr messed up writing the scripts. However God has seen to my pain and made it bearable. I am not saying it is gone I still have some pain but I use it to make sure I don't do things I shouldn't. I am getting a new bed today which is much more comfortable then my current bed and should be able to sleep better now as well. I will keep you updated and thanks again.
