  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am in a situation in which I dont know what to do anymore. I run track and field. I went to another high school my freshman year, and that school had a good track program. The coach cared for his athletes, and was a kind person. Their program was also good. I had a good season freshman year.

I transferred out of that school after my freshman year, and started going to this current school sophomore year. The track program here isn't that great, and my situation here isn't that great. My sophomore year wasn't great, and a lot of that had to do with the fact that the coach didn't think about how to train, and knew little about it. My season paid for it, and I also recieved a major injury that season too. This coach's attitude is really negative. He constantly is angry or something. He also has encouraged and stole two baton sticks from my old school. I really cant do much about that, but I dont plan on having a repeat season this year.

I made my own program, talking to my old coach and other people, and was able to create my own thing. This coach reluctatly let me do my own thing this season.

But, this week, he was told me one day to either do his thing or leave. He basically lied to me. Then the day after that, he said he will let me do my own thing, but wants to talk about it or something. He also said something like shoving me in three or four events. That is basically so he can light up the scoreboard, instead of caring about me wanting to succeed in my events.

All I ask is for someone out there to pray for me. I pray I get a new place to run. I pray that this coach leaves, and we get a new coach. I just pray that this years season to go fine, and that I have a successful season, and pray for strength to deal with this problem, or make this coach and problem to leave. Thanks for any prayer, I really need them.

God listens when you pray for people that are harsh or angry with you. He listens when you ask to change their hearts and lighten their mood. I've found it more effective than praying these types of people get fired or just go away. You help him and yourself with prayers like this.

You are doing the right thing and yes do talk to your coach about your "thing" you are organizing. Be compassionet even to him, Lord knows why he is so angry or what not.

Be patient my friend and kind with this mind. Being a good coach is a gift that not everyone has. You are in control of what you do and you can influence those around you if you are not offensive and take care in what you say.

I pray your coach becomes more light hearted and open to your good suggestions. That are you are able to put your ideas out eloquently.

Good luck my friend,
