But when you gather your thoughts and have the strength to do so, find yourself a lawyer for the next time. It may never happen, but you need to be prepared just in case. Manipulative people do not generally change overnight.

Also, something that hasnt been talked about as much: I will also be praying for those who hurt you and manipulated you.

Yes, I know it may seem strange to be praying for those who have done you so much harm.

But they are clearly very broken inside if they are at a point in which they are able to hurt a person SO deeply, and apparently feel no remorse over it. I'm willing to bet they need our prayers just as much as you do right now, not to over-shadow your situation but still, just a thought.

It is VERY important that you seek to forgive these people. Yes, it will likely be hard. But you will feel much better after doing so. If we are not able to forgive others, how can we expect God to forgive us?

Dear binny, thank you so much. Things seem to be working out..at least for now. Dave says it's his house and he wants me here.
The offspring will continue to exert pressure on him, of course- and try to make my life miserable. Thank God they live at least 150 miles away.
